Just a quick question, will all the factions of the IS and the Clans have their own Group for online? Oh and has anyone taken over House Steiner as a group?

Don't think so, but check with the Player Recruiting section of the forum.  I'm already in Team Living Legends, or I'd be starting a DC faction.  I hope SOMEBODY does though.  It's just not BT without the good old House Kurita.

What do you mean? in game factions? If so no, there will only be Clan and IS and they will be defined by tech, the mechwarrior who pilots them will determine affiliations.

Other than that the community sets up their own clan and units. Check the recruitment thread or make your own House steiner if you want to.

Man I'd love to be a lance Lead of a lance from House Steiner. They were the most memorable for me.

Was the other House that you were fighting for in MW 4 House Davion? I can't quite remember...

I think House Steiner attacked the palace of House Davion...and then you played as the leader of the Resistance Cell to retake the throne from House Steiner.

Correct my History if need be.

lol for a second I thought you where talking about me (played as Davion in IS wars and kicked Steiner/Liao butt.)

But you are correct about House Davion in MW4:Vengence though

There's many factions in BTech, but only so many Houses (otherwise known as Successor States, hence the Succession Wars you'll probably hear about at some point which covered hundreds of years of violence and skullduggery), the Houses are, Kurita (the Draconis Combine) they're Japanese in nature and follow Bushido strictly, House Liao (the Capellan Confederation) they're mostly Chinese and Russian with a smattering of Celts and others, House Davion (the Federated Suns) mostly Franco-English with some Arab and so on, House Marik (the Free Worlds League, my personal favourites) a lot of Americano-Romanian-Indian and Chinese mostly, very similar to modern western democracies in many ways and House Steiner (the Lyran Commonwealth, hiss hiss booo boo ;) ) which is mostly Germanic and Celtic.

Plus you got the Periphary States, minor powers with big chips on their shoulders.  Plus you got large groups of pirate nations and Merc units making money of the Houses infighting.

Then you've got the clanner (super advanced invredders from beyond the periphery of known space) most are on a crusade to destroy the House, but some are there to show us all the error of our ways by example; they're very fractured and different so its hard to sum them up in general terms other than they all think they're better than everyone else.

And thats the Universe of Battletech in a nutshell...

Ok, well if your set on Steiner (takes all sorts I suppose ;) ) then you might want to read up on the House:
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Lyran_Commonwealth

Thats a good starting point.

Plus I wouldn't limit myself to English speakers, Germans make excellent team players (second only to Brits, Fins and the other Baltic peoples IMHO), and they seem naturally inclined to Steiner for some reason  ;)  Some Germans would give your unit more timezones to play in, which is all good.

If your worried about the guy who's started up a German speaking House Steiner, well.... he seems to want to be the German Knights unit and the House Steiner unit as he's posted for both, plus he seems to have alienated quite a few of the German forum members as far as I can tell, so I think he's just sitting on the name as a spoiling tactic.  If you read up as much as you can on Steiner and are really dedicated as a CO then I'm sure you could end up with a good multinational Lyran representation :)

Good luck with your recruiting and I look forward to crushing seeing you on the field Lyran :)
