MWLL is opening door #104 in its release countdown calendar. The screenshot of March 14th shows us how deadly the heat of inferno can be to energy based Mechs due to continual overheating. Enjoy!

Very Sweet explosions.

Love the whole shock wave thing too, Reminds me of the Intro to Mech Warrior 3.

Nice stuff.

Holy Shit! Can I take it then, that an overheat doesn't result in a shutdown, but in a core meltdown, in heat critical environments? (throws away the PPC and hugs his gauss rifle).

Lovely pics though, the blast front from the explosion looks as I'd have imagined :)

The shockwave looks great, the more I see of this map the more I like it!

Great stuff.

I have to say, every time I see that map I like it more and more.  Looks like some loving and care has been put into it.  After watching the boom vid, screenshots of them can't do them justice so I wont even bother to comment on them :)

Nice Shockwave, sooo.. are objects actually affected by the shockwave? Elementals go flying or are destroyed, battlemechs are rocked to the side?

Simultaneous core explosions? Either this place just became geologically active or someone found the self destruct key FOB for battlemechs

BTW Heretic just checked out your Latin, lol, perfect fit for a mercenary!

Thanks ColdFusion, it's usually quoted as Vespasian, but AFAIK t's older than that, there's similar examples that go back to the Legions under Sulla, so I think it's just a Latin folk saying.  Vespasian put the tax on peoples urine, much to the disgust of his haughty son, so when his boy came asking for cash the old man said "How can you stand it? it comes from piss!"  ;D  Like your Horace quote, much more elegant than my own rather blunt maxim :)

On Topic,   as suspicious as I am about how we got 2 perfectly timed explosions in this screeny it sure is a lovely thing to behold!

I think the "boxy explosions" are actually lava flows unless you're referring to the buildings next to one of the mini novas.

Maybe someone was on the way to a repair bay when someone else unloaded an all energy alpha and "everybody go boom."

I love the idea of a super hot map where taking energy weapons is risky. I always thought AC's never got enough use normally cept for up close and personal brawls with AC20s.

I can picture myself climbing a partisan up a hill and pegging overheated Nova Cats already.

One question, When the core melts down it causes a mooonster explosion like the one in the picture, but what happens when you just shot the hell out of the mech and it just goes down? does the core just automatically melt down or does it just go down with a smaller explosion?

would be pretty cool if there was a difference.
