Just imagine two years of daily nerdtastic BT/MW discussions that last till 4am with people who each have their own favorite mech game picking apart game balance playtest by playtest and making adjustments as we go.

I don't even really look through posts for information anymore, I just look for Masakari's posts so I can get a laugh throughout the day.

THe weapons pods are a great idea, and what I've always wanted MW4 to be.

PLUS++++++++++++++++++++++

it saves you devs from making and modeling so many different mechs out of necessity!

Good Thinking!

Let me assure you that every weapon placed in game is being looked at with the utmost scrutiny in order to balance one another out in the long run.

Thats all needed to know.  Lack of balanced combat was the part of Mw4 that drove me away from the series.  Having this game developed by actual Mw fans instead of out-of-touch, greedy corporations ( coughmicrosoftcough ), on a proven game engine no less, makes my anticipation for its release extremely high.

It's a good engine, but no real mods have yet been released for it, MWLL might just be the first.

Having too many weapons of similar capability is also a major problem for weapons balance.  The small and medium class are often so similar in practice that there is very little distinction between them, other than on paper.  Another annoying legacy from battletech.
The key is to obscure your intentions and make them unpredictable to your opponent while you simultaneously clarify his intentions. That is, operate at a faster tempo to generate rapidly changing conditions that inhibit your opponent from adapting or reacting to those changes and that suppress or destroy his awareness. Thus, a hodgepodge of confusion and disorder occur to cause him to over- or under-react to conditions or activities that appear to be uncertain, ambiguous, or incomprehensible.
