Welcome to the opening of door 107 in MWLL's release countdown calendar. The screenshot of March 17th is another contribution to the purple period... a Madcat in combat on SA_Extremity, hitting an enemy heavy with a full salvo of lasers.

Not sure about the MadCat thingy, doesnt look like one, yes it got some similarity, but it is not a mad cat/timberwolf, unless Variant also modifies the Apparence of the Mech (would be awesomely awesome!).

The Missile Pod and Cockpit aint no right for a mad cat.

Before anyone says its a MkII!

What we're looking at is I believe the 2medium laser 2 large laser 2 gauss sporting Timberwolf that we first saw in an early advent shot. Stange thing is, this one has 5 beams....so maybe something we haven't seen before......

Looks Lethal.

Yes it is a Madcat, Yes it does look like one, Yes the modular weaponry changes the appearance of all mechs, and from the 1/2 inch you can actually see the cockpit from behind, yes, it does look right.

All the modular weaponry does is change the profile of the mech. All the chassis are based on TRO designs. The only difference is, in not many, if any, other Battletech/Mechwarrior games has modular weaponry been implemented in such a way that the actual mech changes to accommodate the weapons.

The mechs themselves look exactly like their classic counterpart aside from that fact that now missiles don't fire from autocannon mounts and lasers don't shoot from missile racks.

Well thats great !! No more LRM20 shooting AC20 and the such !!
I wasnt sure about the cockpit since the screen I'm on got very low Max brightness so hard to see lots of detail on those darkish maps.

And I havent seen a lot of the older screenshot.

Just a question concerning the Mad Cat armor, in previous MW game on PC (MW3 and 4), the Mad Cat had the Center Torso armor way too large (it was hard to not hit center torse when you where shooting at the torso, noting to do with size of model, just the Left/Center/Right Torso division) So the mad cat had the tendency to get hit in the center torso almost eveytime it got hit in the torso. But on table top, as everything is Dice Rolled, there is no penalty to having a "big cockpit" setting on the mech.

So question is: Does Mad Cat will have better Left/Center/Right armor layout on the model so it will last as long as any other heavy mech in the fierce battle to come?

Yup, this is where you guys FAR excede any previous designer of a MW pc game. The fact that you guys actually remove the Missle pods to put in the extra lasers, the fact that it's not 1 cookie cutter arm does all weapons. You guys show the thought that you have put into this mod every day. Thanks again!

This is one of my favorite things about this mod. MechWarrior 4's solution to this problem was okay, but it really limited how you could customize your mech.

Also, those gauss rifles (if that is indeed what they are) make that Timber Wolf look extra beastly. I didn't think I would want to stray too far from the original design, since it is by far my favorite mech, but this just looks damn awesome.

This just looks unbelievable, every time I see a new screenshot I get more anxious! Just bought a evga nvidia 9800 gtx, not the fastest card but it should do just fine  :)
