New pilot here!
« on: March 17, 2009, 09:24:34 PM »
Hey, just found this sight about 15-30 minutes ago and it almost sounds too good to be true!
Im a pretty big mechwarrior fan, I remember the first MW game I played was on the SNES then later on I got mw3, then MW4 vengeance, also read one of the novels and loved it, not to mention the collection of the Wizkids MW dark age figures.

I got really high hopes for this conversion and I can't wait to go stomping on small infantry men with an atlas! ;D I just hope it comes out in time for me to play it a bit before I ship off to basic training.

I do have one question though. Will the scale of the mechs be accurate? I mean, if I'm running around as an infantry man for some reason instead of being inside a mech, will I be able to see a 40 story atlas and have to look all the way up just to see the waist of the thing before the bottom of its foot hovers over me and steps on me with a satisfying, "SQUISH!"?

Or is it too early to tell?

That should show you the scale. You can see the Crysis tank as reference.

That may look a little something like this...

Welcome...

The fact that you played MW on the SNES I would guess that has to put you somewhere in your 30's...
in which case I wish you best of luck with your basic training  ;D

I did it at 30 and those 18yr olds made me look like a slug.

thanks for welcoming me! Actually, i'm 19 the snes was my dad's and when i was younger i was hooked on it, that and the nes duckhunt. At that time Blockbuster still carried snes games and i would have my parents constantly rent me a game lol! One of them was Mechwarrior and I was hooked on the instant action.

My parents eventually stopped renting that game for a while because i would constantly yell at the other mechs saying something about once I get done with them i'll kill their families too. Kinda concerned my parents a bit.

Once my parents realised that I knew it wasnt real and i would never do that (apparently its pretty hard to get a mech to fit in your backyard without attracting some attention..or stepping on some houses..) they where cool with it.

That was when i was around 6 or 7. Then i discovered Playstation...
