But...but...I wanna donate...
But I don't wanna get you guys in trubble eithers. :(
Hm....
Ok, I'm thinking here.  This is never a good thing for me, or anyone standing near me, but hmmm.
Ok, I got a goofy idea, at least I think I do.
Mebee we could all pool together and buy PREZZIES for devs?  Just need a list of devs and a wishlist of stuff they want.  That'd be cool.  That's a GIFT.  Gifts ain't payment.  They gifts.  Probably pooter stuff.  Fancy joysticks and mouses and stuffs?  Booze?  Jewelry?  Cars?  Puppies?

That brings us back to hookers and Blackjack now don't it?

Wouldn't donating the money with express permissions for it to be spent only on say server rental and bandwidth for uploading of files via a SVN system or website expense's such as renewing the address etc be acceptable as part of the contract with MS?

This way it's showing it's only going on the mod and isn't going into your pockets, you'd have to setup some sort of paypal gig with an autopayment going to the right places and just show MS what it needs to know so they don't get shitty.

I'm sure someone unrelated to MWLL could set up a "Server's for underpriviledged Gamer's" fund (wink wink nudge nudge) to be run by someone either associated with MWLL or not, as a "trustee."

I'm sure there's some way of doing it and I agree it SHOULD be done.

Again, very gray area.  And who in the dev team wants to play in that gray mud?  Nobody.

Why don't we all just avoid the gray area completely?
lol
It's not that hard, we get donations, rent an awesome server, and make a MWLL dedicated 24/7 server.
That way, we can enjoy the hard work of the dev team on ............ you know........ "R Day" (shhhhh, it's all very hush hush. :P )
with this, we could have a dedicated teamspeak server, etc etc.
And to make sure the mod stays alive during this process, no MWLL dev will be allowed to be involved in ANYTHING to do with the money flow to the server hosts, etc. (Unless of course, a dev wants to MAKE a donation, in that case, it wouldn't even enter into the gray area)
Easy as pie :D
(hmmmm.... speaking of pie...)

............ And now for something completely different.

"I like Mechs."
          "Well, I like pie!"
"How about Mech pie?!"
"No thanks, too many beam weapons for my taste, I'll take the Firemoth Gumbo."
*Hands customer bowl of gumbo after giving it a thin MASC of spices*
*Shopkeeper whispers in your ear*
"What he doesn't know is that the Gumbo will give him the runs like you wouldn't believe"

PS
Yes, I know, I'm a horrible person XD
And no, I'm not insane, it's late, I'm tired, I don't care. :P

I will donate by running 2-3 uk servers and supporting not only the mod makers by actually get people playing but the community as well by giving them somewhere to play that will be monitored and heavily administrated.

Your donation to our efforts will be noted when we see numerous full servers.

More notoriety can help those of us without game jobs get them, so, in a way, you'll all be donating to our cause just by playing and enjoying yourselves also increases the prospect of us actually making money off creating commercial games someday.

I'd be happy to help administrate one of these servers! I'm British too, which means I'll most likely be availible during peak time. I also have alot of admining experience and people skills, so if you want any help, let me know :)

In a groundbreaking new feature, MWLL will include a new gametype: MechRockerBandHeroKersplosion.  Pilots will smash the throttle to classic 80's speed metal using custom ethernet plugin to real guitars.  PPC's will be triggered by power chords, and LRM ammo is selected by playing one of 17 distinctive hammer-on rifts.  Get a teammate elemental to hop up on your mech's shoulder and throw up the horns, and with a hot duel you can deflect enemy fire BY THE POWER OF YOUR ROCK!
