And just for the fun of it, read the single comment  ;D

I thought that with the new cry engine we would go forward, but we went back to the X360 and PS3.  :P

I don't know anywhere that lists it as a pc engine too.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't the case to be honest, Crytek never said they'd be dropping the PC plattform as a whole.
However, I've got to be straight honest - I'm not overly impressed with that trailer. CryEngine2 had awesome effects also... in trailers. Let's wait how much of that actually makes it to the us customers.

Maybe the physics in the Cryengine 3 may be better but the graphics on that didnt look any better than what im used to in Crysis on Very High

but if they they can get that graphic quality for consoles in Cryengine 3 then my frame rates will go through the roof with my SLi 9800GTX+ set up  ;D

Bring it on  :D

I thought they blamed Piracy for their lack of sales (not, you know, 3% of people having machine capable of running it and stringent DX10 marketing) so they decided to not do PC exclusive anymore.

Are we seriously overly concerned with graphics with Cryengine3? I mean.. Crysis is still really amazing looking and majority of people are still having a hard time running on Very High. If anything, it looks awesome for the Consoles. PC's, we don't even know if they will adjust it to look even more amazing than that.

Bring on the improvements to gameplay and it's mechanics!

Game play + innovation in game play > graphics.  It's the thing that Crytek forgot I think, they were so infused with making something that looked so damn incredible they forgot to add the game play.  As far as Crysis (warhead and wars as well) they fell 'far' behind most others in the genre as far as playability and accessibility was concerned.  I believe they did site that piracy was the main concern that made them go from a pc exclusive developer to just another developer.  But lets face it, the 360/ps3 market is far superior to the PC market now, not just for piracy reasons alone (computability comes a close second on reasons to not want to develop for the PC).  If you look at a series such as Call of duty, their numbers were massive on the consoles and even though it was the best selling PC title (apart from the all dominant World of Warcraft) in the past two years, the percentage of the entire sales is around 80% consoles 20% pc.

These were games that you could run on a 3-5 year old machine with ease, even older if you dropped the resolution, both Cod4/w:w were top selling on pc/consoles but the percentages do not lie.

MWLL is done on CryEngine, that's the only important thing as of right now!

I wonder how it's possible to squeeze such amazing graphics into the PS3 and especially the 360.

I mean isn't the 360 already maxed out on games like Assassin's Creed?
Then, I find it hard to believe that it can do better than Crysis graphics.

Reading that, I couldn't help but think of EA's recent "Tiger Woods incident" in the UK: they've been promoting their new golf simulation with a TV commercial in which Tiger Woods obviously played the game on a Wii - but were only showing Xbox360 or PS3 footage. Authorities in the UK forced EA to take the commercial off the market.
As said earlier, let's see what this actually looks like when we get our grubby hands on it.

Cryengine 3 will be a graphical downgrade from Cry2 simply because it is being developed for consoles. Killzone 2, a game developed only for ps3 (supposedly the most powerful console) optomized for that exact hardware and praised all over game review sites for being a marvelous technological acheivement in game graphics, dosent hold and candle to cryengine 2.

We might get similar graphics to crysis on pc, with much better performance, which would be cool. But crysis blows console games away so brutally in the graphical department that they really wont be able to improve on cry2 untill the next generation of consoles, or theyll make cry3 really scalable so it can be tuned down alot for the console versions.

This news saddens me, so heres a big thanks to the (many im sure) pirates even among this forum community that give pc gamers bad names in the eyes of developers. Its one thing to steal food or clothes you cannot afford, but to steal a game is pure greed, and if youve got a pc to run crysis youve got the money to buy the game.

Pirating games wont kill pc gaming, but its sure stiffling its growth, and filling the market with crappy console ports. Not to mention the smaller developers who have more problems keeping their games secure, make great titles, that people just pirate. Its really corrupt.

That vid is from the 360 and PS3 versions of the CryEngine 3, and a terrible quality. We have yet to see what the PC version will have. Most of our assumptions are just that, assumptions. We won't know till we see more, or get our grubby hands on it in 20##.

The video looks pretty good to me :)  Than again it looks to be the same as me playing on all high settings, they just have AA 4 on :)  As far as the Xbox comment, if you want to max it out, play Amor Core AF and do double missle pod launchs at the same time, poof you max out the 360  ;D

No that's taxing the cpu and gpu's through bad coding.  If you take the ps1 for example, ridge racer had slowdown in it (one of the first games ever on the ps1)  then look at the far better looking and better frame rate games towards the end of it's cycle.  Companies get better and better at optimizing their engines to allow greater frame rates with more being drawn on the screen.
