I've played the battletech MUDs and MUX's a few times, and helos are scary in those. Well, they can be anyway.

As for aqua mechs... just go all Gundam in this game! lol XD

In all seriousness, the water would be the last place I'd wanna go in a mech. One pin-hole in my canopy, and you're dead. Or an armor breach, that limb is useless.

I think the monitor is designed to patrol rivers going through heavily forested terrain, like southeastern Asia. Think of that thing patrolling a river in Vietnam and what it would do to other boats and villages near shore.

I didn't mean to come off as disparaging the monitor. In close terrain it does work great.

In a response to that article about the Rapier Destroyer I posted, can you imagine being a gorilla or smuggler or something in a unarmed ship getting ready to repel borders and thinking their going to come over in a small boat or send a line over and then suddenly having 80+ guys in rocket packs blasting off towards you?

I can't think of a more worthless thing in BT than a helicopter.

You do realize the Hawkmoth was a helicopter until we turned it into a Vtol, riterite?

VTOLs were fine as cheap garrison units, much like tanks but for obviously different uses.  They could never stand up to any mechs in the tabletop game because of the extreme vulnerability of their rotors.  With only 2 dmg, the chopper is destroyed if they get hit by pretty much anything.  And although they were indeed fast, they did eventually get hit.

Yes, there were helicopters in MW3. They go fast and take a circling course. They're tough sons of bitches to bring down sometimes (LRMs didn't help me).

Current Events for me: Finals. Cheers for MWLL's official release. Need to get a comp capable of running it.

For me making a new comp: Need to find two grand for parts first.
