On the flip side Korjax, allot of US based ISP's are now looking at fixed data plans.  Just look at Time warner which is one of the larger providers have just gone over to fixed bandwidth and a few others are following suit.  This not only effects the viability of this type of tech but also things like Steam/digital downloads.

I don't think so, I'm on time warner and we don't have fixed limits and there are no plans for such a thing to happen in our area.

I know comcast has put on a 250GB limit to some users.. but that's still so high you'll be able to comfortably use this service for a good long while.

Time Warner will expand a trial program that it began last year in Beaumont, where customers were placed on metered billing plans and charged extra when they went over caps on download volume. The company will roll out the program in Austin this summer, said Alex Dudley, Time Warner's vice president of public relations.

I dont see it happening. They charge so much NOW, that for them to do this and not expect a revolt, UNLESS they dropped the current pricing, would be business suicide in the long run. Also, there would be too many varibles...tv, phone, and internet all use the same bandwidth spread. Maybe for those who have only cable internet....but I dont see it for those (like me) who pay almost 100$/mo. for all 3 getting hit with it.
