Mercenary For Hire.
« on: April 25, 2009, 05:49:24 AM »
Hey guys I've been checking this site out for the past 4 months and I have to admit, this is the only game that look promising and Im looking forward to it! I just ordered upgrades for my PC and bought crysis.

Anyways I put some thought into this game and decided I was to be a mercenary for hire. Only thing is, it's been a while since i played mw2 and mw3... So I kinda forgot what my fav mech is. Meaning I want a Mech that is moderately light, with a guass rifle because I mainly want to be a sniper  8) Any suggestions anyone??

Shadowcat.  Beastly, ridiculously versatile medium mech.  A lighter option is the Hollander, but it has poor armor and isn't that fast iirc.  Also it's only weapon is the gauss rifle, where the shadowcat has some extra tonnage for a few lasers or something.  Plus I believe the Shadowcat has MASC and jump jets, which will be excellent for those bursts of speed to get away when you snipe.

EDIT: Blast, beaten.

Yeah, the Scat is what you're looking for.

Curious how a Mercenary for Hire works though.

He gets paid in E-cookies...  ;D

I. Suggest the Uziel because there is a variant (can't for the life of me remember what it was called from the screen shot) that has 1 Gauss and 2 PCCs. It looks like a good all around mech-killer, but of course i am obsessed with the uziel so who knows...

Perhaps pats on his back?  He could barter for parts and weapons.  ;)

I really hope you're joking. That's a jumping Marauder, going 90, for 50 tons. Unbelievable.

EDIT:
Hunted down the advent calendar. Damn, but it looks like it. That scares me.

My favorite thing to do in MW3 was strip a Scat down to minimum armor and only 1 light weapon, and totally FUBAR the engines, or the jumpjets.

Flying around the battlefield with 10 jumpjets or going 300KPH is fun  :D

To bad they didnt make the Diashi...that was a godly mech, one of my favs....loaded it up with 4 lrm 20's and a few clan large lasers, could take out an enemy mech in 2 shots easy sauce.

To bad my mech3 cd got scrathed, cant play it anymore...have a crapy torrent that crashes all the time, at least I can play instant action =-/

Try it with an elemental in Pirates Moon.  The engine goes up to a 150XL I think and it hits like 320 kph without masc.  Plus you are so damn small noone can hit you.  Just arm a bunch of Light machine guns and hack away at the legs.

Haha yeah, but it was fun.  Back in the day I didn't have any real internet other than basic dial up so I never played online, it was just messing around in Instant Action ;)

Cant go wrong with a shadow cat  :D

Well... I'd like "pretend" to be a mercenary just a lone wolf for clans to hire me to do the dirty work ya know lol. Anyways Idk what the beta will be like as far as mech customizations go beyond weapon replacements. But I do hope they develop a cool achievement modular somewhat like cod4 so you have to gain points to buy or upgrade trade etc...
