Help me keep this thread going...this is 1 going to generate some great ideas on where to take some gameplay elements...and 2 things that we can do better.

I think one thing that a lot of games miss is soldier acceleration and deceleration. You cant in real life move left then magically move backwards and then jump forwards in a fluid motion...I think that if we make the mod more of a tactical game (with infintry of course) then it will be more fun to play...also a jump delay, you can't jump 5 times in the air without landing first lol. Decrease the speed of play, and make it more enjoyable...I just finished a game where I did all the objectives...and no-one would help...but it only lasted like 5 minutes...

slow it down a bit
the gameplay is a bit too fast in etqw
and mabey make it harder to kill
in etqw u dont even have to aim
u just spray and they die in a second

Aiming is alot different in this than BF2 I can agree. However, getting a head shot in BF2 you need to shoot right in between his eyes to score a hit. I like these hit boxes alot more. Yes because of the speed, it's more of a spray and pray. In MWLL it will be changed a little bit. The speed for infantry will be slowed a little as well when moving and shooting, there will be a huge deviation in bullet spread to promote people to crouch and shoot and also take cover. We want to make it a little more tactical of a shooter rather than have it so arcade like.

However, I have to say this much. I do have to concentrate more on what I'm doing in ET:QW than BF2. A more intense environment makes it more fun to play for me.

I'm a bit surprised the thread is still going actually and that there's indeed quite a lot of people asking for the game to be less arcadish, with reduced running speed, less hopping etc.

Not really ET:QWs fault, but I would fix the players attitude when it comes to playing this beta. IT'S NOT THE NEXT BF2!! GET OVER IT!

I don't know if ETQW has this feature but one of the best things about O:FP and ArmA is that if you double the "run forward" button your guy drops his weapon and can sprint for short distances.  America's Army also has this feature.  Along with this there is a nice feature where if you to drop to one knee while stationary your character will drop to a knee every time he stops until you alter your posture.  These two features are very, very nice and add a much more tactical feel. Let's ya get away from arcade aspects.

I would have to agree. Since BF2 let you spawn on squad leader, that is already a reason to join a squad. Since ET:QW's run speed is so quick, there really isn't a need to have the spawn on squad leader. Only thing that helps for being in a squad is to partly see where your squad mates are, but since you move around so fast, you can't always charge in at the same spot together. One person may be bunny hoppin' around like crazy killing people while you're doing something for the objective and then you two get split up that quick.

What needs to happen for the spawn on squad leader to be useful is a slow down in infantry speed. It's kinda ridiculous that you can run as fast as a tank...

Also ridiculous that a knife can damage the tank, albeit really slowly.

Well, even when taking that as given...
The amount of damage the sniper rifle does to armor is ridiculous.
