If you don't mind buying used hardware, one of the main moderators at the tech site I frequent has a XFX 780i SLI motherboard for sale for $110. The guy is a expeirenced and trusted seller of computer hardware. Personally, I would not have a problem at all with buying hardware from him.

That is indeed quite a deal... Im not purchasing anything for a month though......8(
I also think that when its said and done, Im gonna go with the single card solution as per ur suggestion...
I think that Ill be happy with my new rig, v1, then when I upgrade to a hi end quad that costs alot today, but cheap in the future,, Ill be happier, and by the time I want a new vid card, the top of the lines will be cheap.
So now Ill be looking for best single card MB that supports the intel.
