Is this going to be a strictly stock game?

Please tell me that the dirty little rumor I just heard isn't true. Surely, we will be able to build our own mechs right?

For the Beta, every mech/vehicle will have a set of four variants. After the beta, the dev's have said that there -will- be a MechBay. (Well, not their exact words, but you know what I mean. :) )

Yeah, like Guillotine said, for the beta you won't be able to customize, only select between varients... for the full release version we'll throw in a mechlab and allow players to fully customize their machines of war  8)

Will it be possible to save you varients so you can pull ones you like up any time? When you have the money of course. I guess a piece of paper would suffice but it would be cool.

A small portion of the community still do, not vanilla Mercs but either Mektek MP3 or NBT's HC mods.

In the world of Mechwarrior...

A stock 'Mech is the primary 'Mech, and it's loadout.

A stock Vulture is like 2 LRM 20s and a Large Pulse Laser, or something. A non-stock one would be 2 LRM 10s, 2 SRM 4s, and 2 Small lasers, etc. etc. Those would be called variants.
