Will there be an elemental hijack system? If there is, how will it work?

If you mean battle armour hijacking mechs, from what i understand no. I'm sure most of us are trying to forget that feature from the Mechassault catastrophe
All of my posts are of my personal opinions unless obviously otherwise.

If your referring to the system that was present in Mech Assuault 2 than I sincerely doubt it.  Mech Assault 1 and 2 were not well received by the mechwarrior community.  For many it had too much of an arcade feel to it.

I was about to say 'what the hell would a guy in an elemental suit do with a mech?" Then I remembered...  :-[

But untill (if ever) a seperate mechwarrior class or character model is created it is much more in tune with the battle tech universe to let battle armor destroy enemy mechs, not hijack them in the middle of combat. I am still curious about the nature\strength of any sort of hand placed demo charge battlearmor can use in MWLL.

Sure to be my favorite weapon.  ;D

I think that sums it up.

Oi, this brings up a question of mine.  In one of the screen shots recently, I noticed you could see an elemental in the cockpit of some mech.  Was that just a glitch, or an unfinished human model, or are we actually going to pilot mechs while in elemental suits?  I'll see if I can find the picture.

IIRC, for initial release we will pilot mechs in elemental suits.  Consider them placeholders for if the devs ever get bored and decide to spend time making mechpilot uniforms.

So that's just a placeholder then?  Or will we be able to climb out of our disabled mechs in a fresh BA?  That would be pretty sweet.

Yes you can bail out of your mech as a battlearmor.

I hope the devs fix this in the future.

I like that.  It's not canon, but it adds a little bit of complexity.  Then again it would be really annoying to have to kill a player twice every time.

To get this straight: we do not consider this a bug or problem that needs fixing. The reasoning is basically the same as that for why there is no infantry in the game: you're too slow, too vulnerable, almost defenseless. We don't think this is fun and we doubt many people would.

There will be a pilot model for vehicles to replace Longinus/Elemental in the cockpit - but that is pure cosmetics. Before you enter and after you leave the vehicle, you'll be wearing your faction's battlearmor. Yes, some might consider this a loss of immersion or realism. We think it's worth sacrificing this minor piece of immersion or realism for the sake of significantly better gameplay.

and if you're optimistic and not nitpicking- how cool is it that ejecting from a mech doesn't automatically mean u lose the fight?? (like every other mechwarrior game). you actually gotta use your head and not just fire away till you're done then try it all again. a shame you don't get to see a warrior in his 'realistic uniform' which for the smart mechjock consist of a pair of shorts to keep cool..... *imagines this* a big sweaty beast in nothing but shorts.....mmmmmm....... mrrrrrrr.............

It actually isnt the realism factor that bugs me, Im just worried that if your an elemental, climbing on someones mech causing problems, he can just bail out (in crysis style which is like instant) and fight you, so once you snuck up on his mech and got within its weapon's minimums you still have to fight an enemy battle armor too.

However this is my cold hard speculation  :-X vs the first hand experience of a dev, Im the most interested in being an Elemental, and am worried that Elementals will become worthless once everyone has enough money for mechs. (Im sure TAG will be useful all game.)
