This reminds me. The Maps are supposed to be what? 5000x5000meters?
Hig far UP can one go? 5000m also?
This would open up Aerial fighting without having to bother too much with mechs throwing in a cheap shot or two.

All the map sizes are "different" but most of them have a gameplay space somewhere around 4kx4k, to 3kx3k

Don't quote me on this but I'm not sure there IS a max height the aerospace can fly, seeing as I've never reached it or felt like I hit it.  I'm sure there is one there but it should be high enough to make it comfortable to fight in.

What happens when you reach the border of a map? Something tells me that an ASF zipping through the air at 600 kph isn't going to handle a collision with an invisible wall too well.

I know because of the huge maps even if there are invisible barriers they won't be much of a problem as long as you don't get disoriented, but I'm still interested in what happens.

Usually in these games there's a bit of a buffer at the edge of the map, that if you get too far into results in a death/respawn.  Not so sure about how crysis handles this though.

Good to know ^^
'any kind of discussion of randomness ALWAYS WILL EQUATE to being able to critically hit a mech's reactor by firing a micro beam laser while facing 80 degrees to the side, shooting the ground, which would cause a random explosion which would randomly crit his entire team's reactors which would randomly cause the server itself to explode which would randomly generate a strange quark which would randomly hit the earth and randomly randomness randomfapp the shit fapp random!'

That's pretty much how Crysis works.  You cross a border on the map and a count down happens, once the count down is reached you start to take damage, until you enter the map again.

Ah... well that's still pretty high. For clearcut on example the highest mountain is a height of 500-512m according to the game units (IRL it's probibly more), so that leaves an entire area to fight in as aerospace still well above the mountains.

The thing that annoyed the hell out of me in Crysis was when in Mesa, someone else and I would be having a helicopter fight, and sometimes one of us will fly to the out-of-bounds zone, due to tilting the nose back to shoot upward. Then it would give a 4 second countdown or something, and what is really stupid is that when it starts, you have to tilt way down, and HOPE to get out of there in time, which, chances are, you won't. And by tilting your nose far down, you'll get annihilated by a barrage of rockets hitting the top of the helo.
