Welcome to June's fourth and the twelfth overall weekly update by the team of the Crysis total conversion modification MECHWARRIOR: LIVING LEGENDS.

June has come to an end and wow, it's been a super-busy and productive week. Huge steps in terms of polishing and stabilising have been taken and we're proud to present to you one of the most extensive weekly updates we've had so far. We'll start out with the textured four variants of the Inner Sphere's Mauler and continue with various impressions from SA_Sandblasted. Again, a number of playtest impressions will conclude this update. We recommend to check them out carefully, because there are yet again exciting things to see: yes, it'll be possible to take certain vehicles under water and even fight there.

Four Variants With Textures: Inner Sphere Mauler

Early in April, we introduced to you this Inner Sphere's assault Mech. Finally, it has received its textures which we are proud to present to you today. For size comparison reasons, there's a Longinus in the screenshot and for reasons of completeness, the variants have been explained again.

Progress Report: SA_Sandblasted

One of the team's most recent additions, Rolke, is more and more turning out to be an invaluable asset when it comes to level art: many of the assets you'll see when playing SA_Sandblasted have been created or at least modified by him, who originally joined as a level designer but has proven his value as an environmental artist. Check out some of the most recent changes to MWLL's desert map on the screenshot and panoramas below.

Playtest Impressions

Again, here are a few pictures from this week's playtest.

That underwater stuff looks sick. And I like those new pyramids...they seem more fitting

I think I smell an unofficial 'underwater combat only' rule in some matches.  Lasers ahoy!

This is just amazing. It looks better than 75% of the AAA games out there already.

Looks great!

I noticed two things: The Mauler B Variant is twice on the picture (first and second from the right) and the C variant is missing. Also, this is no elemental for size comparisons but a Longinus, but that's a minor mistake.

Nevertheless, happy to see the update. Are the underwater stages going to be filled with some assets, too? I suppose this was just a quick first test of this new feature.
I've been waiting for a long time, for this moment to come.
I'm destined for anything...at all.

Nice update, Lovin'! the Pyramids!!!!!

Quick question, when you design the loadouts on mechs, do you work to a rule of 'x' tonnage available? and do different variants of the same mech all have the same heat dissipation (e.g same number of heat sinks)?

Gotta agree with the other guys, those pyramids look damn fine. Textures on the mauler are great too. Mechs in the water are going to be a nasty surprise. Everything looks awesome.

I love the look of the underwater views but I dont agree with the idea that mechs can to underwater.

Great update...nice job and hats off to the Ambassador of Pain.

I love the possibility of underwater combat.

That was the best mission of GBL....IMHO.

Please Please Please let this be the last month of waiting!

One other thing...devs (and alphatesters, whoever you are) you are doing a great job.

You guys Rock.

This is a visual orgasm, I can see things are looking more polished now. At first when I saw the map Sand Blasted, I thought it looked quite mediocre in comparison to such maps as extremity. This update has changed my views on it, I don't know if it was something as simple as the pyramids getting a new texture, but something has popped into my head and it's telling me that place is gonna be awesome. Also earlier this week I had noticed the change in Criminals sig, and I am thankful that the screenie he used is now available, along with many others showing us some great action shots. Great job so far, keep it up.

The pyramids definitely make me think *Stargate SG-1*. Very nicely detailed. I just can't wait to stomp around in a Mauler out there...'twill be epic tales of fun.
