Radio
« on: July 02, 2009, 02:54:34 AM »
I was just thinking of the music ingame and i suddenly remembered a server in another game that had a "radio" system where you could bring up a menu that allowed you to select songs from a list to play for you. what would be cool would be this with the ability to add your own songs to it and have some MWLL music preset in it, or something like that. i could blast mechs to Genocide allll daaaay looooong....  :o

just a random thought from the pink blob called my brain ;D

Oh yeah i loved that in Battlefield Vietnam, had tons of classic 60-70s music. Other people could hear it too who where out of your vehicle. I could always tell my clanmates where giving me aircover cause they would all play Flight of the Valkeries  :P
All of my posts are of my personal opinions unless obviously otherwise.

Yup, fun times ;D
I often played BF:V with a few friends on private LAN-parties, 8 of us against 40 bots or something, if it was a map with water, we split up into a few boats and helos and slowly moved up to the enemies while listening to Surfin' USA xD

So..I am curious about this, you mean there was like a radio "button" in your mech or something that let you select a genre of music?  ???

For the Scorps [ even though as a majority we are playing WoW ] I have a pretty decent Shoutcast stream that features multiple facets of the Rock and Metal Genre. But, it is very much like a terrestrial radio station without the ads  :P
I am in the process of implementing code that will allow you to request songs.
Currently, I am running playlists that are broken down in to time slots that equal out to be about 120 Hours continual without a repeat, at which time [ after about 5 days I rotate in new playlists and repeat ]

If you would like to check it out.

Yep, do carry the filth =OP  Personally speaking, I know they would be classified as such but I really dont consider them true "Black" metal really. Just like Dimmu, to me..they are "pop" versions of the genre. Good bands..dont get me wrong, but they are just to "clean" for me to label them as such.
However, I do agree, when the band was with Cacophonous they were much more black and more raw, but...who wont say that about any band that makes several albums.
Currently on the ol playlist I carry 2 or 3 songs from the Principle of Evil Made Flesh but in the catalog I have songs from Dusk and Her Embrace , Damnation and a Day and also have the pre release to there upcoming disk The Gospel Of Filth.

for some reason i remember a game where you could dump your own mp3's into a folder and then play them in game... but i don't remember the game.

I know in Unreal Tournament you could convert your MP3's to OGG and use your music that way.

i just hope they dont add any metalcore, scremo, emo, alt rock or crap they added to the transformers moives

heavymetal games needs heavy music not screming with a guitar  about how your life sucks  then go peractice on guitar hero. i hate torernce in music these days when it comes to  losers belittaling the styles with there dumbed down submissive behavor .

good mechgame music is   technoish sounding with the metal  basicly hightech violence/angest and f&*k you mentality.

Gotta find the right ones. They can be good but they can also be pretty annoying.

It'd be fun (I remember BF:V too), but at this point it'd be feature creep. Just running iTunes/whatever in the background is good enough for me.
