So frustrating
« on: July 02, 2009, 09:12:06 PM »
I was cruising through the server lists on Crysis just because i have nothing else to play and I find MWLL's Alpha server. I've been able to hold back so far until i saw the server there listed. So again, I'm really hoping that one of these days soon, i can join that server

Why? Just shows the devs are working (on or off the mod). Would you like to see 10/32 all the time? That would mean the devs are playing what they have started and not finishing it.
All of my posts are of my personal opinions unless obviously otherwise.

Pfft you wouldn't want to join that server, it starts to choke if more than 12-15 people get on  :P

Of course the upside is that I personally think the mod is tons of fun with just 12 people, and I think I might actually like playing with that many players more than a full server.  Good ol' MW slugfest brawls make even 1v1 fun.

I'll have to ask my Server Admin, how many Player-Slots my Server has.
12/12 means Company Sized Fights. 16/16 means Company plus Command Lance.
8 would be one lance against another.
Everything in between would be kinda awkward in regards to IS Unit-Structure.
10 could be done for Clan-Battles of one Star against another.
And if there are more than two factions on the field one can work those numbers.
But with 2 Clans you would need 64 Slots to field a Trinary each. Mech-Trinaries.
With low Number of Slots, Elemental Battles would be . . difficult at best.
'any kind of discussion of randomness ALWAYS WILL EQUATE to being able to critically hit a mech's reactor by firing a micro beam laser while facing 80 degrees to the side, shooting the ground, which would cause a random explosion which would randomly crit his entire team's reactors which would randomly cause the server itself to explode which would randomly generate a strange quark which would randomly hit the earth and randomly randomness randomfapp the shit fapp random!'

Lets hope that the 2090 is not a hint on the release date :-)

r2090 means it's revision 2090.

Usually on a SVN (which most major companies use) you have a revision count, when a file is changed the revision count goes up.  It also means that if there is a major problem with the current build or revision you can revert back to older revisions of the build.

1v1's are cool.  But I like the teamwork aspect a real league brings to bare as well as the overall strategy!

Do you mean the game starts to not run smoothly if more than 15 people are joining the server?

What is the largest size tested so far? I hope at least something between 8 vs 8 - 12 vs 12.
With 12 vs 12 being the average. I recalled having 12 vs 12 Mechwarrior league matches back in around 2003 when there were still enough players on the zone. Those were fun and tactically also much more interesting than small games.

I mean that server isn't as "fast" in internet speed and specs as the server we use for the sunday playtests (which will have a much larger playercount compaired to just joining up during the week), so higher amounts of players on that server will tend to cause player lag.

true
this is too good to be true
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.
