MechWarrior 5 teaser...?

Well then all things considered this pretty much sums up how I feel:

I'm worried Microsoft's going to pull a Halogen on us now.  Even though we have "legal" rights to use the franchise for a non-commercial purpose, they are allowed to pull those rights at anytime if they see fit.

I keep telling myself that it is just a transformers thing because all the architecture, cars, and etc all look modern day (the car is directly based off a modern day model coming out too).

Reguardless even if it is Battletech I'm not sure this would be a true mechwarrior sequal anyways.

I'm hoping it is a mechwarrior sequel, but I seriously doubt MW:LL would draw any sales away from a future Mechwarrior 5. Given past patterns, MW5 would spend most development time on a single player campaign, and then have a so-so multiplayer at best. It will also probably be an XBox360 exclusive.

Either this product is early in development, and we will not see it for a long time, or its late in development and MS kept it secret. If MS kept it secret for years they would have pulled the plug on MW:LL already. If its early in development, it would only help the Mechwarrior franchise to have a solid mod out to keep Mechwarrior in the public eye until the game is released.

So... could this be some early CGI of a new mechwarrior game? I am doubtful... My fear is they will "modernize" the looks of the game, like they did with mechassault or the table top game dark ages...

My money says "MechAssault 3 Announcement for the 360" with actual release at some nebulous point in the future (next 9-12 months).

Since MWLL is a non-profit mod that is targeting the PC crowd and Microsoft has basically washed their hands of any PC games development to focus on the 360, I don't think that MWLL has a great deal to worry about.


Those feet don't resemble anything in the Steel Battalion or Chrome Hounds universes, so MA is a safe bet.

Gotta say it looks good from that what 3 second video!  I would say that is a House Davion Flag however, I also get the feeling that it looks like X360 gfx though, seem to 'colourfull' for a PC counterpart.

Anyway, in my experiance, Fan Based Mods/Games are usually far better than AAA games, more cannon, play better, look better.

As in 6 years ago.  Looks to me more like someone uncovered an old "here's what's coming next" teaser to a game that was planned after MW4's success, and canceled due to stupidity.

Yes it is, but that is typed by the person who uploaded it, bottom right of the video is written "C2009 ll Rights Reserved"

i think your all WRONG one..look at the date in the title of the trailer.. 2003... what year is it now please? 2009... Transformers ROTF is 2009, and MW4 was like what 2004? all of ya'll fell for some idiot's trick

No.  The Mechwarrior (2003) was just a CATEGORY, as in they created a Mechwarrior 5 game space on their website in 2003.  It's also labeled under "Mechwarrior Project (Rumored)."  

Is that an Urbanmech in the second trailer?  And a Vulture in the third?

Yea, possibly jaggermech. Bipedal, 2 cannon-like arms apparent... barrel of a lower torso.

in 2007 that his new company Smith & Tinker had licensed the electronic rights to the MechWarrior property from Microsoft--which had bought FASA--and intended to "surprise and delight old fans."
