the way that it was put in jordan weissman's terms was that it would be similar to r2d2 doing some spot repairs on luke's xwing.  I.e. some kind of internal minor repair systems or maybe rerouting through redundancies to get damaged parts back online, however i believe it was mentioned that the repairs were either limited in what they could fix, or how often you could do it, or both.

You seem to know quite a bit, thank you for keeping us from speculating ourselves into madness :-[

i so hope there will be techs crawling along the mech while it's walking around cursing like nothing ever heard before in the inner sphere ^^
'any kind of discussion of randomness ALWAYS WILL EQUATE to being able to critically hit a mech's reactor by firing a micro beam laser while facing 80 degrees to the side, shooting the ground, which would cause a random explosion which would randomly crit his entire team's reactors which would randomly cause the server itself to explode which would randomly generate a strange quark which would randomly hit the earth and randomly randomness randomfapp the shit fapp random!'

Read that too, I think the idea is to to remove your self from the battle and give the Mech some time to heal. (Trillions of nanobots crawling all over your mech?) Since it is unlikely that you will be able to distance yourself too far from the battle I don't have a problem with that as long as it is realistic and not Arcade like. You would hope by the 31st Century in something as unbelievably complicated as a mech you may be able to reroute a few circuits or have redundant back up systems, actually if it is done right it could be interesting.

As long as someone doesnt try to push them to add something stupid like repair-kits laying around randomly on the ground  ::)

And I know alot of people really dislike WoW (but you cant deny its continued huge player base and addictivity), but if all these games want to come close to the revenue Blizzard is making from the game they should realize that WoW is so popular because there is so much to do (if you want) or so little if you dont want to play for long.

Some people are very skilled and get really high in the arena ranking system or in raid dungeons (or both) but the amount of people who casually play the game to run around and do a multitude of other simple (but addicting) things outnumbers the former.

Basicly the game appeals to the hardcore and the casual along with anything in between, in seperate but equally entertaining ways. Now unfortunatly with a mmorpg its easier to make a game that appeals to alot of people while not taking too much away from either, maybe some of these other companies should take this into consideration instead of 'Market for the biggest crowd and make the quickest buck' kind of route.

It sounds to me like they have done very little in the way of development other than creating the trailer. It seems that they are just trying to gauge the communities interest in the new game and fishing for a publisher willing to foot the bill for development. With the amount of time it takes to develop and release games these day, I believe MWLL is the only hope for a state of the art MW/BT game in the next couple years.

Well they definitely got my attention. Scripted or not, the movement  of the mechs in that video just felt right. We really have the best of both worlds here in MWLL since we get ours first. If the "rebooted" version is a winner we get another great game, if not MWLL will live on, kind of like a, Living Legend...

Serves you arrogant shits right, some of you developers are so full of yourselves, just keep delaying the release over and over, the only real reason i can see for not releasing a public beta is it's probably way away from being ready so no biggie if I pass it by.

I just hope this "limited repairs" just doesn't degrade into another gears of war type system where you heal back to full after so long, and stuff like destroyed weapons, it would be annoying to take out a PPC only to watch him walk around a corner sit there and repair only to come back out and nuke your mech with the same gun you "destroyed".

Hence the term "limited." I doubt they would let you repair a destroyed limb. That would just be the stupidest thing ever. It would just totally ruin the sim aspect. I think that they will be smart and only let you repair your armor or a damaged(not destroyed) limb.

But we will not know until further details emerge. All we can do is hope for the best.
