Kevin Cloud:  We're really confident about Enemy Territory. We're right on track now on the PC, and for people who have got that Christmas spot going, keep an open spot for Enemy Territory on the PC. It's been a great collaboration with Splash Damage, and we're excited to get it into people's hands.

Christmas 2007? I can only lol at that. Excellent approach to undermine the game's success. It'll simply drown between the various other games that will be released by then or shortly after that. This is, of course, not a final release date yet, but it seems quite likely.

I'm not posting this in the news section because it's speculation...

Christmas....man....well we're going to have to have some serious talks about where we want to go from here....the game will not succeed if its looking at a christmas release....too many other great games are coming out long before then. I REALLY want people to play this mod and well if they don't even play the game in the first place how pointless is that.

Two other engines are under review, we'll have to see what happends...namely Crysis and the Unreal Engine.

We all agreed before that the best chance for the success of ET:QW would have been an earlier release date. The hype tide is rolling back already, people are turning their back on the game because of the experiences with the beta client, the whole "when it's done" attitude and various other problems.
Add to that the number of players, like me maybe, that don't fully like the gameplay or setting of ET:QW and won't be tempted to even give it a try because they've got a number of more interesting alternatives at their disposal at that time.

I think he means that this is the release date for the console versions. It's really an unclear statement and shouldn't really be looked into much.

I know Total QuakeWars is saying different, they're front page has some hear-say about it....

As most of you know, the release date for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars has constantly been changing ever since the game got relatively close to coming out. The numerous retailers out there are a big part of the confusion as there seems to be a new date every single week with them. Well it seems the stars have aligned and we finally have some matching reports as far as the release date goes. Both EB Games and IGN have listed the release date for September 3, 2007. Hopefully this date will hold up and we'll be seeing ETQW very soon!

The next question in that interview is about the release date of the console version or do I misunderstand that?

Shack:  Got a projection for the console release?

Kevin Cloud: Anything I say would more than likely be wrong. [laughs] It's that "when it's done" philosophy.

Which is fairly unimportant though. Quite a number of retailers had the 9th of July or something around that as release date when it was about selling the pre-orders. They might just as well be guessing.

Agreed. And quite frankly I'm getting sick of seeing the SD Devs getting ready to shoot themselves in the face because of pushing back this game over and over! The game's popularity is going to crash and burn something fierce since they haven't released anything new to the public for quite some time!  >:( >:(. We don't even have our SDK beta that they've promised to "leading mod teams". Also what really do they have left to do for the game.... really? Bot testing?!? WHO CARES!!! It's a multi-PLAYER game not a multi-bot game.

All these set backs makes me really question what SD is actually doing. Which is why it's important for all Devs to post here with your comments please (sorry regular memebers).
