I am about to buy Crysis, in order to play this, but I was wondering how many people will be counting on their Steam version. I think this has been hashed out to whether or not it will work, but I am still nervous about just buying it from Steam and not having the disc. Any thoughts?

Sorry if this is a very old topic.  :-\

Steam should work with this mod without any problems, so long as you figure out an -applaunch. But to be safe, I'd grab it from the bargain bin.
When will full game/demo/beta be released?
We're planning a beta release in the next *very* few weeks. At this time, we can't be more specific. Please stop asking.

No, I will not stop asking.

It has been said that even one of the devs has the Steam version, so don't worry.

just how frigging cool would it be if MWLL were also distributed by steam?
Steam-version of game and mod means you can play both anywhere you like.

Actually there's quite a few mods that are, if not distributed, then certainly findable on Steam - NeoTokyo as just one example...

It would certainly be helpful, though I have no idea what getting a mod on Steam involves xD

I have boxed crysis, but steam wars, but im not worried either way. Ive yet to have problems making mods work with steam.

And if steam distributed the mod, that would mean HUUGE boosts to player base. I remember when Age of Chivalry came out on steam, there were hundreds of servers and you had to wait in line to get into any of em. And any patches are auto applied by steam! Alot of people gripe about steam but i say its just too damn convienient!

Here is another question:

What is Crysis Wars? All I can find is Warhead. Same thing?

Crysis Wars is the multiplayer component of Crysis Warhead. They're both in the same box.

I strongly suggest you buy the box set called Crysis Maximum.  You get all three games for $40.  That way you can play the mod when it comes out for Crysis and move onto Wars when the changeover happens without having to worry about getting another game.

And screw Steam.  Purchase it retail.  I know way too many people that have had their steam accounts hijacked.

Dispite my reservations w/ steam, if mwll is released from steam that will be a good thing. It has helped other game mods expand quite well. & patch updates are mutch easier.
