Here is another question:

What is Crysis Wars? All I can find is Warhead. Same thing?

Crysis Wars is the multiplayer component of Crysis Warhead. They're both in the same box.

I strongly suggest you buy the box set called Crysis Maximum.  You get all three games for $40.  That way you can play the mod when it comes out for Crysis and move onto Wars when the changeover happens without having to worry about getting another game.

And screw Steam.  Purchase it retail.  I know way too many people that have had their steam accounts hijacked.

I've made it for five years on steam,  never seen anyone get an account hijacked that didn't deserve it for being too foolish to keep their password to themselves. The one person that had it happen, it took one call to Steam and they permabanned the hijacker's IP address from the steam network system and got the account back like new...it was a good lesson for the person that gave their password to a "friend" they met online...

I still don't get how people seem to think perma banning an ip is possible with dynamic IP Systems.
I've been Administrator in more than one chat, and believe me, it's frigging impossible to ban IP's.
With DSL only corporations get static IP's, and those can be banned. But private lines get dynamic.
Every 24 Hours, the IP get's changed. If you want it sooner, disconnect your modem and reconnect.

With CABLE it's a bit different, as there is no forced disconnect. But even then you don't have static.
With Cable, you usually get one dynamic IP and because you are never disconnected you keep that.
But if you disconnect the Modem and reconnect it, you would usually get a new IP again.

(If you do any steam hosting then you require a static IP for the most part, or your server gets unusable after about 24 hours at the most)

However, i agree it's definitely not a "PERMA"ban, i've done the same on my server so they just change their IP and come back, then i just permaban their steam ID, all better. Still, just making the point that the person learned from their error.

Let me state one more time.

It works with Steam.

It works with Steam.

It works with Steam.

It works with Steam.

I've actually used the Steam copy while developing the UI for quite some time.  I only installed the 64-bit version to get the better performance from the editor, and so I can run two computers on a local server for testing.

Thanks!  This was the kind of confirmation I was looking for.  If it doesn't, you owe me 30 bucks or a custom Mech I designed put into the Mod.

J/k on the money thing.  Maybe on the Mech.  I'd need to have a definitive model done before I start making such demands since this is my first post.

I'm installing it now.  If it works, I'll reply to this post and you can officially add it to the FAQ.

Confirmed!  We have a "GO" for Steam usage!  It must be noted that the game must first be started without the MW:LL Mod in order for the MOD to work

The only reservation I had was that if a future steam patch breaks the mod, and steam auto-updates the client, we could have to wait some time before playing MMWL, or be forced to revert/reinstall.

But that's avoided by setting steam not to auto-update the game.

But how many times has Crysis been updated since its release?  I only saw two patches.  And since it might not be as popular as it once was, getting a patch is quite low.

It definately works with Steam. I'm new to the game.. just bought crysis from steam because I was unable to find a hard copy Locally. Walked through the install forum entry for setup. Short of the files being in somewhat different directories for steam the install went flawlessly.

Been playing a couple days now and looking forward to join discussions once I got more logged time under my belt, but I figured I'd share that the install from steam was pretty painless.

Not only that, but you can even set steam to offline mode and still run MWLL using the in game browser for online multiplayer :)
