I just find it funny that people keep mentioning the flaws in the animations like we haven't noticed or something, especially on the YouTube video comments.

I suppose some don't fully understand the concept of an Alpha/Beta nor do they realize what "Work in Progress" really means. Then, in relation to those comments, they also wonder why we haven't released beta until we deem it done. Just sit back and contemplate the influx of obvious things we already know are unfinished the second there's an open beta.

Every time someone mentions something blatantly obvious while stating it like an inspired epiphany, god kills a kitten, and all us devs Facepalm.

I believe that this question/concern was covered well enough by the Devs in previous threads. Please take the time to research before you post.

Ok... so the problem is a limitation of the player's view ie the camera being coded to associate with a certain area of the cockpit --
 ? node?.

I am just guessing here... since I don't have access to the actual information.

It seems to me... in order to loosen up the mechs a little... u could make a sort of floating box inside the cockpit.

The relative position of the "Pilots view" would be moved to compensate for the extra motion of the mech... so that the mech animation would look good, but the Pilots camera point would not actually change.

So the Box / Camera Node would float inside a larger container which had a 3D size big enough to accommodate the 3D bobbling of the mech... and then adjust the camera node in the opposite directions of the bobble...

(or something like that)

As i said this is just guess work... not sure of the internal working of the engine.

That's not the problem and that's not a solution to our problem.
I can't go into details on how it works due to NDA constraints but believe me when I state that we know how it works, what limitations we have, and are working within those limitations to achieve the desired effect.

Can't you just give 'em a few beers?

 :o
When will full game/demo/beta be released?
We're planning a beta release in the next *very* few weeks. At this time, we can't be more specific. Please stop asking.

No, I will not stop asking.

It's my opinion that bobbing and swaying in the cockpit would be not only tolerable, but actually a cool feature of the game.

We agree, which is why we're trying to come up with a solution, but as has been said a couple of times, the direct approach isn't possible, because the bobbing and swaying simply is NOT tolerable like that. We've been trying that and believe me when I say it felt like riding a skateboard on a dirt track.

Maybe you just made them bob too much? Something slight like in this dude's sig would be great, I would think.

Loosen not loosen it doesn't matter to me but thanks devs for at least getting on it either way, although in relative speed to release if this is a road block please just go around it  ;D

I wouldn't sweat it to much anyway. From all indications they know what they are doing.  ;)

Perhaps a creative solution will arise and then all these whiners can at last be satisfied!  :D

Put it in for the beta, wait for people to complain, say:"we told you so!" and remove it with much gloating ^^

No, because then you'd have the sadistic whiners who'd cry about it's removal.
We'd rather not have anyone experience the epileptic seizure inducing bob.

Why not show us what it looks like in a video?

Why not trust the people that have been working on this for the last few years?
