Welcome to the 15th Weekly Update by the team of MechWarrior: Living Legends, a Crysis total conversion modification, which covers the activities of the third week of July of 2009.

First, the team would like to thank everyone for the huge amount of attention that our trailer "Walking With Giants" from Weekly Update XIV received. Now, for this week's update, we're taking a look at the progress of SA_Extremity and you'll get to see the new jumpjet particle effects for battlearmor. As always, a couple of playtest impressions conclude this update.

Progress: SA_Extremity

As has been shown in our latest trailer, Extremity has received quite some care. One of the results is this lake near the middle of the map. One time, it'll be frozen over and passable while at other times, it'll be all water depending on the time of day.

New particle effects: Battlearmor jump jets

Just recently completed and already implemented: the new particle effects on battlearmor jumpjets were received quite positively during the last playtest.

Playtest Impressions

Again, here are a few pictures from this week's playtest.

For those of you who don't get it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwTZ2xpQwpA

Uhh...back from being off topic: Nice update! The lake effect is absolutely sick, as seen in the video of course. Love the BA Jump Jet effect and the shots of the uller and raven. Can't wait to play it.

My guess is you go critical.
When will full game/demo/beta be released?
We're planning a beta release in the next *very* few weeks. At this time, we can't be more specific. Please stop asking.

No, I will not stop asking.

That's actually a really good question about the ice. I don't think waiting for another half day cycle to get out would be all that fun...
Until I can put some sugar on my cheerios, I don't worry about eating them....

Nah, you won't get stuck, atleast at the moment.  It forms from below the ground, so you'll just get "pushed up". That way it's not annoying that you get stuck, even though that would be pretty cool.  Atleast at a basic level, there's a lot of effects that happen that makes it look sexy ;)

Ideally it would freeze over top and you'd be able to shoot your way out, but this causes some collision problems, not to mention I'm not sure if it's too feasable anyways :D

Only if it's water. What if the fluids on Extremity have a more uniform temperature/density relationship?

I really wish you people would quit pointing out little things like the color purple.  Sheesh look at what they did with a FPS mod.

it's not people.
it's me.
and it's something of a trademark for me.
people started asking questions when i did not say something like that.
and nowhere did i say that this bunch of rag tag coders is not awesome.
See? i compliment their work even though it is in purple, that's how good it is!
