Well, MWLL will be using the Crysis engine, therefore these news are probably some of the last we'll have on ET:QW. Finally, after months and months of "when it's done" instead of any estimates, Splash Damage finally announced the release date for ET:QW.

This is the moment you have been waiting for: id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead just announced the official release date for the PC version of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars during the id press conference at QuakeCon! Without further ado, here's the scoop: ETQW is slated to ship in North America on October 2, 2007, while Europeans will get their hands on it the Friday before (September 28. .. .

We should have announced the switch months ago then... lol.
Yet honestly, it wasn't foreseeable. Just look how long it took them to get this stupid beta2 client released.

Agreed. The longevity that this game holds is about as long as an over sharpened pencil.

That sounded a bit more enthusiastic and optimistic not long ago mate... what happened?

Well i really saw a few improvements that could have been made and we received alot of promises for things to be included that just weren't. In addition, we were severly mislead when it came to some technicalities of the engine a good example was map sizes, where you can only actually make a 1mile square map to the maximum...now for our scale thats terrible. We saw alot of improvment happening but at some point it just stopped and in all honesty its not where it needs to be for a game to be released in 2007.

I think we burst out of our naive bubble of thinking ET:QW had more than it was currently showing. With that came the crashing down of what we ever thought cool and what was left is all the things we dislike about QW.
