Welcome to the 17th Weekly Update by the team of MechWarrior: Living Legends, a Crysis total conversion modification, which covers the activities of the fourth week of July of 2009.
This week's update introduces new particle effects for Mech jumpjets as well as aerospace and introduces the four variants of the Inner Sphere's hovercraft, the Harasser. As always, we're concluding this update with a few playtest impressions

Four Variants: IS_Harasser
What used to be an extremely mobile and swift missile plattform, has now become a real weapons plattform: the Inner Sphere's Harasser. See below the four variants you'll find in the first public playable version of MWLL. The vehicle itself is undergoing extensive remodeling at this time, which is why the version in this screenshot does only have placeholder textures on.

New particle effects: Mech jumpjets & Aerospace engine blasts
More shiny stuff! New particle effects have been added for Mech jumpjets as well as aerospace engine blasts.

Playtest Impressions
Again, here are a few pictures from this week's playtest.

haha mass ravens!

i like the new JJ effects, just a guess going by BA jump effects, do they kick up dust when near the ground? and is the aero engine the afterburner only?

First let me start by saying I absolutely love the new effect for aerospace and jump-jets. It's fantastic work. I think it's one of the most believable effects I've seen in a long time, so kudos to you guys for the excellent work on that.

That aside, everything else looks like our regular weekly updates - a consistent level of good quality stuff.

veeery impressive particles, heeeeeell yeah !!!
and watch that nice little submerged raven ("one ping, wassily" ;))
aaaand by the way you have to note that nearly cocksure confidence in which the puma already walks in the background of the same picture
and btw : 18 ravens...makes for a hell of "tron-disconics"    *woot*

What the hell? Lol.

Looks like you guys have been to a few fireworks parties and you've been having fun with bunson burners, fun time with particle effects and stick lots of mechs in the same place and see what happens.

Looks like you're having fun experimenting because alot of those effects look like they need tweaking.

Looks good, one question though

What is going on in the last playtest impression picture with the awesome?

Looks like someone shit a firework off and the awesome attached some funky lights to its chest lol

Naww silly its a military grade tank pom-pom!

Stupidness aside I'd guess its a PPC impact? Maybe the awesome is the source of those PPCs thus the glowing orbs/discharge? And the crane looking thing may be the unfortunate victim of some stray autocannon fire?
All of my posts are of my personal opinions unless obviously otherwise.

Awesome! I love the "C"variant for the Harasser. Question: In Mechwarrior 3 I remember harassers in front of me flying off ramp-like dirt piles. Will these be able to do that or will they be slower?

pic of the ravens made me laugh:D

Stop picking out things you don't like! Your delaying the game!
When will full game/demo/beta be released?
We're planning a beta release in the next *very* few weeks. At this time, we can't be more specific. Please stop asking.

No, I will not stop asking.
