This is appropriate since Catalyst Games could not actually retain the unseen rights they said they got. They can retain  the Dougram and Crusher Joe designs but not the Macross/Robotech ones unfortunately..

Penny pinching sons of motherless goats one and all. They are just mad that Battletech is still around now days and Robotech has almost disapeared. Granted I loved Robotech when I was a kid and I have played the few games that have come out for it, both video and pen&paper but those games have never come close to the gaming goodness that is Battletech.

This is why there are terrorists in the world- plain and simple, i hope bad things that i won't speak about happen to the people who initiated this- mostly something involving a bridge and falling off one of the sides of it...... i have this strange fascination with bridges lately that i just can't understand- wierd.....

I'm not too concerned about the status of MW5 because of this. Harmony Gold, the owners of the "Unseen" 12, are very overzealous in protecting their IP. The Warhammer used in the promo video is almost certainly different enough from the Robotech one to be legal, but its easier and cheaper to simply use different mechs in the game.

Screw Harmony Gold and Macross and Robotech. They made some cool mech designs but the universe they put em in was stupid. Most of the battlemechs are cannon fodder in macross anyway. Only time you see the destroids is when they're getting the shit blown out them. Robotech can keep their LAMs, all I want is the Destroids and the Glaug command pod. Ill stick with the reseen ostroc too.

They should change the name to Mechwarrior Forever.

They won't cancel the game. Mechs might change.

Also for those of you who don't know, Harmony Gold gave permission to MekTek for them to use the Warhammer, Marauder and others in their mechpaks. They didn't have to or didn't even need to respond, but they did and allowed use. I think S&T, Microsoft and Topps/Catalyst Games just need to work it out. More assuredly, the game will more than likely continue development.

So the next question in the Warhammer Saga is: What will become of the Warhammer for MW:LL? Is it sanctioned by Macross? Or does it fall under the were not doing this for $$ blanket?

More than likely they will back burner the Warhammer and work on all the other elements until they either get approval from the rights holder then re-visit the Warhammer or decide to replace it. Its not like this is a show stopper for the game.

due to the non-profit nature of a mod and is there a macross game? it probably wouldn't change anything because it doesn't affect the market or potential market for macross, but I'm not a lawyer so I wouldn't know for sure.  That and a mod doesn't have money, they can send a cease and desist letter, but I don't think they'd take the time to do that for something as minor as 1 mech in an entire mod.

I think the new mechwarrior(5) warhammer looks at least decently different that this shouldn't be too much of a issue. Hopefully they do include it in some fashion. (heck they took out the light and redid many of the body art, the only thing that is its overall similar is its shape really.

(Personally i say "F-you" Macross for screw'in with me mechwarrior, and i hope MWLL kills all their profits MWaahahahah!!!!)
