also FYI, some of the people who built the old hardcore battletech virtual world sim pods, i.e. Paingod wagner and The Suit Thorley were the same guys behind mechassault.

There hasn't been any news really since the article saying they received a cease and desist letter, believe me, i look weekly  ;D
BUT read what you will into this >> http://www.piranha-games.com/Games.html <<

You'd think if it was canceled, they would remove that...

that's true...
been trying to find some forum post which i could post here to show, but didn't find any specific enough...
after searching several threads on mektek.net it seems to me that it's still being made, and i think since they had those legal issues they may not, and/or probably don't want to give any information out...

also the official sites (Smith and Tinker, Piranha Games Inc.) don't have any new information...

for everyone willing to search the mektek forums, here's a link:
http://www.mektek.net/forums/index.php?showforum=148
maybe u'll find something i missed... ;)

until new information arrives we'll haveto be satisfied with what we already got:

EDIT: I love that trailer... ;D

I want a new Mechwarrior.

I want to play a campaign that is just as exciting as it should be, according to the BT novels.
I want this campaign to have RPG elements by letting me choose what to do, and how to do.

I want a mechwarrior that has the Unseen. Especially the Warhammer and the Marauder >:(

You know what is all the fuss about the Warhammer and the Marauder and all the other un-seen mechs.

Just drop them or give them a huge redesign, TBH who cares, it's 12 mechs in how many awesome designs?

Is it really worth all these legal complications?

Hope they can just move on with any of the other cool designs we never see.

One of the easier things to do..is just model the HG mechs diffrently.  Ironwinds and Cat games already have new Images and models for the warhammer and other mechs. Just use them instead of the ones that look like the IPs mechs.

It is completely beyond me why these companies don't post the occasional heads up. I quick note on their website just saying "yea we're still alive but not sure when things will start movin forward again" would be enough.

I know it's been a while since we had any actual news, but there have been a few noteworthy updates on the piranha games website.  They do at least list mechwarrior as "currently under development".   Their site overall has a mechwarrior theme to it... and an interesting image at the top of the games page that isn't clearly from mechwarrior, but doesn't seem to fit any of their other projects.

Whatever, I say we spam desu in these forums. If we type it enough, we might turn japanese and ACTUALLY LIKE MACROSS.
"But if someone who thinks they're good does something evil in it's name?"
"That is Evil's pervasive nature, my student. It is manipulative and caculating like a wolf in sheep's skin. Many would say that Good and Evil are relative to the individual. No, they are absolutes, and we fail to see that, as we have both good and evil within in us. We were made in god's image, but we were made with the base clay of the earth. If we are to truly defeat evil in all it's forms, we must not allow ourselves to think we are perfectly righteous, and we must not allow ourselves to falter in our ideals, no matter what happens to us."
