Welcome to the 25th Weekly Update by the team of MechWarrior: Living Legends, a Crysis total conversion modification, which covers the activities of the fourth week of September of 2009.

Welcome to September's fourth weekly update featuring the popular medium Clan Mech Shadow Cat with four textured variants, new impressions from SA_Marshes and a couple of screenshots from the weekly playtests. Enjoy!

Shadow Cat - Four textured variants

One of the most popular Clan Mechs, the Shadow Cat has finally received its textures. This week, we're presenting to you the four variants of this 45t war machine.
Before you start wondering: yes, the 'cockpit' is still very much WIP.

SA_Marshes: Updated scenery

SA_Marshes, swampy, foggy home to mosquitoes... and Mechs. These new screenshots illustrate recent changes and general atmosphere on this map.

Playtest Impressions

Again, here are a few pictures from this week's playtest.

Great shots here. I love the splash effect on the MKII's right foot as it emerges from the water.

Marshes reminds me a LOT of the Tribes 2 map Quagmire...

Also, Scat firing AC/20 at aerospace fighter - Scat pilot fail. :)

Holy shit O.o
Those SCATS are going to be Death on fast legs x.x

Great Job,

I am loving the detail on this weeks update, its great to see mech's being fleshed out. It is even better to see them in action running around a blowing things up :)

One minor point here: I think the Scat is a bit overweight with its weapons load out.

Its base primary config is a 6/9 mech with JJ's moderate armor a gauss and 2 ermlas with an active probe.

Gauss being 12t + at least 1t of ammo = Total 13t
Erlass 1 ton each                             = Total 2t
Active probe                                   = Total 2t ??? <-forgot here :)
                                              Grand Total 17T

Your Primary ->

Gauss  -> 13t
erLLas -> 8t
erMlas -> 1t
aP      -> 2t
GrandT-> 27t

That puts it in the heavy lesser assault range of firepower. Might want to revise that slightly :)

yeah but game balance may be an issue... hard to say how though because that things carrying a biiig loadout for a medium. ill leave that one to the devs.

four ERlarge on a scat... *writes down not to use on inferno*

Personally, i am more scared by the AC20 Version . .
Good armor, good Speed, good firepower. And can jump behind you.

I like the B variant, the twin ppc's and ac5 is an interesting combination.  I can just fire the ac5 and 1 ppc if it gets too hot, then both once it cools down.

Probably not all that much ammo and heatsinks though.
If the big cannon is silent, it's going to heat up real good.

one always existing fatal flaw with the scat however will balance the big guns... the arms usually go boom very fast.

and am i the only one that loves that BIGASS muzzleflash on the UAC20?

lol, the ac20 is awsome. I would just be worried because people will notice that variant straight away, and maybe go straight for that arm? hopefully its got some survivability..

One minor point here: I think the Scat is a bit overweight with its weapons load out.

I found some stats for the SC:

Internal Structure:     Endo Steel  2.5
Engine:    270 XL                       7.5
      Walking MP:    6
      Running MP:  9
      Jumping MP:    6                    3
Heat Sinks:    10 [20]
Gyro:                               3
Cockpit:                               3
Armor Factor:    134                    7
Armor Type:    Ferro-Fibrous

That's only 26 tons before loading it up with goodies which leaves a whoppin' 19 tons for weapons and electronics.  That ought to leave room enough for some assault weapons.

Note:  I left masc out of the equation to avoid confusion.
Also, I apologize for the crappy layout of my poor cut and paste.
