Can any dev say something about how big the MWLL download will be approximately? How do you plan to distribute the mod to the masses  ::) ?

Probably Torrent, maybe other P2P backed by one server-dl somewhere, but given the appearant size of the mod, that's highly unlikely.
Traffic seems to be frigging expensive <.<

Hey Ares,

Sorry for the late reply. The Beta download will be an estimated 1.5 GB packed up file. We will use all means available (FTP, HTTP, Torrent) to distribute our baby across our community. With a fast internet connection and a good remote end you could get the Beta as fast as 15 minutes ;)

I hope this answers your questions.

Cheers,
Seraph

With my 1k dsl connection I'm thinking more about 15+ hours via torrent to avoid disconnects :-\

I've already started moving my computer into the bathroom, where I've installed a fridge and microwave.
I don't plan on leaving the shitter for awhile when MWLL goes beta.

I find its far easier to go the liquid only diet, place a 5 gallon bucket under the computer desk.

Now I'll all excited again. Stupid Xmas holiday prevents me from buying a Steel Battalion Controller or a Novint Falcon. CURSES!

Hey Aidan,

Good question that I am not able to answer. I don't know enough about their distribution way to say if we can use it or not. It sounds like something we would look into for Final release but not for beta since the game will change a lot in a matter of weeks. I am uncertain how well this is handled by Steam. Maybe another dev knows more about this so I will ask around :)

Cheers,
Seraph

EDIT: Passed this along. We know more someday next week - hopefully. We also have to ask around :)

Seraph,

I agree with the use of Steam for the initial full release. I am sure Crim will be working this issue. It is my understanding he has met some of the peeps at Valve. Whether or not Steam will be a partner in the official release may depend on the reaction in the player community to your upcoming Beta release.

Thanks for your response.
