Game Crashes
« on: December 27, 2009, 05:14:16 AM »
I installed Crysis several weeks ago to make sure no problems with it working.  Was able to login to multiplayer and play.  I am running Win 7 64bit version.  I installed the mod followed all the directions.  The game will launch and will start to log into the account and then crash.  I have actually started into a game a few times but the game crashes before I make it into the game.  Now however the game crashes as soon as it launches.  I have it fully updated.  I am trying a full delete and fresh install but if that doesnt work does anyone have any ideas?

I also have problems with 64bit in win7 sometimes. Try to use 32 bit for now if you can.

Same issue here, using the 32bit version and it crashes on startup.

I deleted on re installed crysis again and now crysis wont work even without the mod being installed.  As I said the game was working a few weeks ago.  The only thing that has changed on my system is steam being installed for Modern Warfare 2.  The version of crysis I have is not the steam version could this be causing an effect of some kind.

It shouldn't. Steam and Crysis should be two different things unless you bought Crysis through steam. All you can do is try reinstalling it and repatching it up to the latest version.

New drivers might help too, but since it was already working that shouldn't have anything to do with it.

I did a fresh install and crysis is still crashing.  I am running it as an admin.  It crashes at random times.  I almost made it into a game then it crashed.  This is getting frustrating.

Ok I just read somewhere that version 1.21 is for 32bit Os systems and will not work with 64bit systems at all.  If this is the case and it works without installing 1.21 will we be the correct version to play?

I don't think it'll work without 1.21. I'm pretty sure this was tested with 64bit operating systems before today.

"Added 64-bit executables for Windows XP x64 and Windows Vista 64-bit version. In Windows XP x64 a new shortcut will be placed under the Crysis Warhead program group. In Windows Vista right-click the Crysis Warhead icon in Game Explorer and choose to run the game in 64-bit mode."

Try starting it in 64bit mode and then enabling the mod on the left side instead of using the LL shortcut.

I've also experienced crashes referencing crysis.exe errors. Turning down the detail and sound levels seemed to increase the time between crashes.

The error log referenced did not seem to be created: C:\DOCUME~1\<username>\LOCALS~1\Temp\eeb2_appcompat.txt
