Joystick setup
« on: December 27, 2009, 05:17:41 AM »
Guys, I copied in the Actionmaps.xml and replaced the exsisting one in both my CDS lessergod profile and in the default. How do we get to access the Jstick in game tho? Gamepads is still greyed out.

If your joystick is plugged in when you start the game it should be working already, no need to change anything in game.

Go grab an aerospace and give it a try :)

unless they've changed it, you will have to use joystick mapping software to bind keyboard keys to your joystick buttons.

That is the best way to do it for the X52. Other joysticks you will have to play with the actionmaps.xml some. Even with actionmaps.xml or the X52 software just remember that the joystick is not setup to be analog yet, so other then in Aeros you may have a lot of trouble aiming accurately. After spending many hours playing around with adjusting the actionmaps.xml and X52 software it just did not compare to mouse and keyboard. This was not in a MW4 k+m vs. joystick preference type argument. This was based on not being able to function properly in tanks and 'Mechs without analog.

I'm sorry if this sounds dumb, but how do you do that?

You don't need software, you just need to write the functions into your actionmaps.
