While flying in Aerospace, use your speed to evade enemy Aerospace as well as hard turning.  "X" will instantly cut your throttle to 0

Change interact from F to F1 to avoid accidently ejections, then change grenade from G to F that way switch target. (which is G) doesn't interfere with grenade tossing for BA)

When in low grav environments as a Battle Armour, using "X" and "C" will alter your rotation and allow you to use your jump jets to directionally thrust.

For BA, your JJ's are your lifeline, use them to escape hostile situations quickly, but watch your fuel levels, it takes a second to start to refill, so use them wisely.

Using weapon groups

Weapon groups are numbered groups (1-6) of weapons
Any combination of weapons can be in a group.  A weapon may be in multiple groups
Group fire must be activated on the group to fire groups (\| key to toggle group fire and chain fire)

highlight a weapon by pressing enter on the weapon (using up and down arrow to cycle weapons)
Then select the group number you want them to be in by cycling group numbers with left and right arrow keys.

This way you can add any weapon to any weapon group

One a weapon is added to a group then the number will highlight

NOTE:  To fire Weapon group one you must either hit your 1 key, or have the 1 group selected and use left mouse.  This is because there is no weapon group 1 fire key and left mouse fires the currently selected group

EXE-  Lets say I have 4 weapons (LRM,LBL,MLB, and another MBL)
You want them all in the same group (so they fire at once, in Mechwarrior terms this is called a "Alpha Strike"
I want all of these to be in fire group 2.
Select the first weapon in the list by using the up and down arrow
then select the "2" by using the left and right arrow keys
press enter
this will highlight the number 2. in the same horizontal line as the weapon name
Repeate for each weapon

So now each weapon should have a highlighted # 2

Now, pressing the fire group # 2 key (Right mouse) will fire each weapon

Try pressing \| key now and cycle to chain fire, with the weapon group selected
This will fire one weapon each time the group is fired, but will automaticly cycle to the next group
This is great for controlling heat on laser heavy 'mechs, or if you want to be more efficient accuracy wise (so you don't miss with everything and can walk onto your target.)

Lets say I want to split the group into 2 groups
Leave the first 2 weapons in group 2
Then select weapon 3 and 4 and place into group 3
now the first 2 weapons will fire with right button
and the last 2 by pressing middle mouse button (or 3 key) (group 3 fire)

Note - \| cycles fire mode.  To use group fire make sure group fire mode is activated

BA Protips:

1.  In Low Grav your JJ's direction depend on your orientation.  For instance, if you want to get to the ground quickly, aim down towards then ground and jumpjet... you'll blast your JJ's towards the ground.

2. Press J to drop your weapon.  Useful if you want to get rid of your default BA laser in favor of another gun.

3.  Don't forget to buy C8/Inferno charges!  C8 does a LOT of damage towards vehicles they are attached to.  Press G to throw said grenades.  They will stick to enemy vehicles.  Press H to change your grenade type (from C8 to Inferno to Narc [missnamed as "Flashbang" in beta]).  Inferno charges do little damage to vehicles, but have a wide radius that is deadly against BA.  It will also deal a good amount of heat damage to vehicles. Narcs act as a homing becon for ALL missles.

4.  Got a lot of extra c-bills you don't need?  Press right-control to donate your c-bills to another player.

5.  You can hijack enemy mechs.  No, not like in mechassault.  Basically if an enemy ejects out of their mech (blowing open their cockpit and destroying their head component), you can steal their mech from them by simply entering the mech he abandoned.  Note:  this doesn't work if the mech wasn't ejected out of and/or is not powered on.

6. Speaking of blown head components, this means they no longer have a cockpit to protect the pilot.  As in... you can deal direct damage to the pilot's health to kill him.

7.  Don't overuse jumpjets when in combat.  You want to be able to jump away right when the enemy is about to shoot at you... and you need to use cover, stealth, and hit+run to your advantage to survive.  Remember... you as a BA have a very small profile and a very small radar signature.  Use this to your advantage and don't rely too much on jumpjets otherwise you might find yourself out of JJ juice when you need to escape.

Scary Madcat gunning you down? Try for a back shot! Destroying the back armor both ruins the Engine of the Mech and causes 3X more damage to the CT with anything you hit it with!

Don't forget to swap weapons as a BA!  Hit 3 on the number row to switch to homing missiles.  You have an infinite supply, though they take time to reload.  If you have purchased an additional weapon, hit 2 to swap main guns.  Alternate between all 3 to keep constant fire on an enemy.

When using missiles, fire only when targets are not moving, moving away, or moving at you.  If you lock on, and fire when they are moving left or right, they are a lot less likley too hit.

If you see a bunch of missiles fired at you, start moving left or right!   ;)

If you eject ('F') from your mech while it is powered up, you are literally ejected, but the cockpit armor is blown out in the process. Want to get out and back in again without turning yourself into a walking one-shot? Use 'P' to power down your mech first, then 'F' to get out!

Right Ctrl is the 'give cbills' command. You can only use this function as BA. USE IT! Extra money can give your side a better fighting edge, and it's better then letting unused cbills go to waste.

But don't forget to save some for ammo and repairs!

LRMs can be used in close quarters, if it's really necessary.
No need to lock on, just aim low and compensate for the position of the launcher to get a few hits in.

you need to aim low with LRMs because they have a minimum range, past 300m or so they will travel to your reticule position at the time of launch.
