-Shooting mech arms is a very effective way to reduce incomming dmg. An awesome is har to kill but if you manage to shoot of both his arms the damege is reduced by a BIG amount. Actually did this in a lpl awasome agains a ppc one, guy was hurting me bad until i decided to cut of both of his arms ^^. Eventually he bailed the mech.....

-A lot of people go to the hollander as quick as possible, remember to take look at the Puma first. it has a good mix of firepower and speed and is hard to hit (I love the dual ppc setup). You can take down warhammers with it.

-Same go's for the madcat vs assault mechs

-Legging is an effective strategy, but is only doable if there isnt much lag.

-Try different classes too. I know it's mechwarrior and not tankwarrior but it can be fun to use something else.

-See a BA standing still, swat it!

Feel my thunderbolts...

Pro tip: Attacking a group of Partisans as a Sulla has the equivalent survival rate of being a helicopter in a Michael Bay movie.

in an LRM config but your target is sitting outside your lock on range?  If the target is within 1200 your LRMS can still hit it!  Just point your reticule over the target and let fly even without a lock.  The LRMS will trying to land on the spot your reticule is on.

If we are on that one: It's possible to kill BA standing still with LRMs - just point him and shoot. Great surprise for all TAGging BAs. ;)
Also something new since Beta 0.1.0 - With new bomber crosshair it's very easy to kill BAs on the ground with your Fbombs. Just watch for Raven or Cougar to pinpoint the location of enemy and drop single Fbomb in low-altitude bomb run (low altitude = less time for BA to escape) - this way you can take down even 4 BAs with Shiva!

With the new Patch killing BAs is really rewarding now. Since you are greatly rewarded to stay alive and not beeing killed very often i often start with the standard Partisan to aim fro BAs and aircraft, later on i swith to the Huit Prime with the bigger AC guns..

If there are BAs hopping around... KILL them!

That even works if you kill yourself as a BA.  I accidentally did it twice and had a nice score to start off with (though my body count was -2).  I wouldn't recommend it as a way to make rank though...Killing yourself doesn't effect that (thankfully).   ::)

this hatred for the BA is bordering on racism/discrimination LOL  ;D

Aero tip 1: getting hit by pesky partisans and hollanders all the time? ascend to a comfortable 1000m and attack them from a sharper angle. many mechs aren't even able to hit you if you attack this way, and tanks mostly focus on the battle ahead, not directly above. be aware however, that you will most likely have a hard time pulling up, esp. in a Shiva. if you see its too late for a pullup, try aiming your jet at the enemy and eject. i dont know if it does any damage, but it will confuse him long enough for you ti hide/start harrassing him in BA.

Aero tip 2: being targeted by a missile while flying above 200m? dive straight for the ground! theres a good chance that the missiles will have to arc to track you, and will hit the ground. flying behind obstacles (mountain in Clearcut, pyramid in Sandblasted) will save you from most missile attacks.

Sulla B tip: if you are certain you have the shot with NARC and will not miss (if the target is stationary or slow), shoot the tbolts right after shooting the narc/ dont wait for the narc to hit. the tbolts will hit the target, and you will have much more distance and time to evade any incoming fire and safely return to base.

This is terrible advice. (the kamikaze part)

When you eject from your aerospace, it is no longer tied to "you" to earn you points, and as such any damage done by the vehicle when/if it impacts an enemy is not registered to either you or your team.  Further, damage done to the aero by its impact with enemy/ground it debited against your rank progression.  And finally, since the plane will sometimes survive the impact, enemies are free to shoot it and destroy it, thereby earning damage points for themselves and the opposing team.

As has been stated before, the main objective for scoring in this mod is to do damage to the opposing team and keep yourself and your equipment alive.

true, but as i said this is what i suggest only if you see you will not make the pull up. its still better to give the team some points then losing them for suiciding, and after you eject you can still do considerable damage as BA, which will be much easier if your target is in a gust of smoke and cannot see you right away.

good point tho

MASC can be more than just a simple speed boost. While fighting any enemy that has a slow reloading weapon (gauss rifle for example) time the reloads and when the person is about to fire use your MASC to throw their aim off. This also works with srms if you hit right as the missiles are launched and you're moving parallel to the enemy.

I see alot of hovercrafts only using the gauss rifle when shooting planes and VTOLs. Use your MG too stupid! 1 light gauss shot wont kill a VTOL.

Use your teammates as bait.  Let a heavier teammate attack first while you hang behind slightly and let them take the brunt of the beating while you hang back and snipe or if you got something speedy, get in close behind enemy  when they got their hands full dealing with heavy and hit them in their back torsos.

See two mechs circling each other, and you want to help out your buddy.  DO NOT JUMP INTO THE FRAY!  You just turn it into a gagglefapp, ruining the other guys shots, or bumping into him.

Instead, find a spot on the outskirts to shoot from, slow down to a walk if the situation allows it.

Getting base raped and over run?  Don't just stand there with your mech getting owned.  When you go critical you are killing your team mates as well.  Throttle it up and get out on the field and fight.

Don't park in front of the mech hanger.  You block your team mates from being able to get out into the fray.

Use your HUD.  If you are a mech and you run over your fellow team mate who is in armor you knock them all over the place.  Not a good way to make friends.  You are more maneuverable and in most cases can move faster.  Since armor is still suffering from turning issues in the beta they are not always going to be able to maneuver around you.

Don't throttle up to 100% leaving the mech hanger.  You end up colliding with everyone pulling out of the hanger or coming in for repairs/reloads.

Don't target fixate!  Always keep checking your HUD for constant enemy awareness.  I can't tell you how many times I see 3 mechs attacking a single target as enemy reinforcements surround them and then cut them down.

Use your weapon ranges to max effect.  I haven't suddenly gotten better at the game.  I just fire my gauss rifle and PPC from as far away as possible and suddenly watch green go red.  Let them come to you and you can hammer them all the way in.  Not every mech fight has to be a turkey dance at close range.  Do the same and watch your rank shoot up in no time.

Call out those mechs!  "Cougar at E4", etc let's your team setup for the enemy.  I have done this to great effect.  I run my radar active and call out approaching targets from long range.  The enemy sees me and start tracking in but then run into a nice ambush in the process.  Then I go passive and move in to reinforce my team mates.

It's all about team work.  If you aren't working with your team then you aren't getting the point of this game.  Have fun, make friends, and womp your enemies together.    ;D
