When on the ground and not firing as a BA, remember to sprint (shift key). Also remember to run side to side if you're out of manoeuvring options (no jets, etc.)
The BA laser doesn't do a LOT of damage to BA but it's an almost guaranteed damage once you practice. Considering your weaponry will typically consist of high-recoil (or small-projectile, or non-rapid-fire) anti-vehicle weapons, the small laser is a good tool for fighting other BAs, rivalled only by the RAC2 (2.5k autocannon).

-AC2 (2.2k autocannon) is an EXCELLENT anti-vehicle weapon, but is nigh-impossible to use against BAs, and does little damage to them.

(Will add stuff later if I feel like it :P)

Another BA tip.  When you're in a hanger that enables your "buy" menu look at the far right.  You'll notice that there is a "load out" tab.  This will allow you setup purchase templates for BA equipment.

For instance I have one setup for "heavy weapons".  Within this template I have a mPPC and an AC2.  What this allows me to do after dropping my small laser is buy both weapons with one click :D

The real power I found is for buying/maxing out grenades.  My "C8" profile has 6 C8's in it, all at the push of a button!

Less time in the buy menus is more time in the field.  Setting up these are especially useful if you're deploying out in the field via APC.

WOW thanks for that one SquareSphere.  I always noticed those things, but never really did anything about them, thinking they were a functionality that would be added later when BA were fleshed out.  Thanks!

Having problems night time fighting?

Use your flashlight AND nv. It will boost the amount of light to the system, and will help you out alot.

New idea- would I be able to use an external hard drive to add RAM and/or improve gigahertz?

OK, total noob needs some help. MechWarrior is really the only game I'm addicted to. I own every version and every expansion set and have beat every one on elite. But I don't play COD or GOW or any of those. As such I am not familiar with Crysis or CryEngine or anything.

I literally need someone to give me instructions from step one. What should I buy. Which version, etc.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Check if you have decent PC - by decent I mean one with modern CPU (i5 or i7 prefered), and GPU above GF9xxx made for gaming - MWLL is much more demanding than the Crysis
  • Buy Crysis: Maximum Edition
  • Downoad Crysis patch 0.2.0 and 0.2.1
  • Download MWLL 0.3.0, than download MWLL 0.3.1
  • Install Crysis (do not start the game, just install it)
  • Install Crysis patch 0.2.0, than 0.2.1
  • Install MWLL 0.3.0
  • Install MWLL 0.3.1
  • Shut down all unneeded applications in system tray (leave only antivirus and firewall)
  • Run the game & enjoy
  • visit MWLL wiki
  • click "thank you" (top-right) if it helped ;)

LRM boats and Toms getting you down?  No air support and the artillery assets are heavily guarded?  What you need is to deep strike with an APC for BA raids!  Go passive in your apc you'll probably be able to get to the flank of the main artillery line.  Let  your team know to go BA raid.  A point of BA's can completely disrupt the long range barrages enough for your mech teammates to push through the front!.

Never assume every Cougar you see is the LRM10 spewing one.  An ERPPC to the torso still hurts any mech as do a  few volleys of LPL.

to very quickly dodge, stop and reverse, try tapping the jumpjets (making you do a little hop), and when you land, hit reverse. You will stop instantly after the jump, and start reversing.
Much faster then hitting X, and then reverse. (also has the bonus of making the enemy think you are going to start a big jump, spoiling his aim).

When having multiples of a particular main weapon (6x CERMBL / 4x CERPPC), bind the left-arm ones to the left mouse button and the others to the right mouse button. This way, you can shoot "around" corners - keeping most of your mech hidden.

Learn (via the wiki) what are the weaknesses of mechs. For instance, the NovaCat has 12k Center Torso armor, but only 5k in the arms and legs. More efficient to arm a novacat than core the center torso. Or leg it.
The warhammer, on the other hand, has 8k in the CT and 7k in the legs, making legging a bad decision for this particular mech. (arms have 5k).

Some more BA tips i have came across.

Reserving your jump jets is a key part in survival, even a little burst can save you a death from Pulse lasers.

Flamer thrower should not be a weapon used in Mid-Jump, you may burn yourself or kill yourself in the process, Believe me, i tried being the Hero and cooked myself.

An BearAuto cannon to the Mechs face can distract them a fair bit, You may be exposed. But at least you gave your team that opening shot to finish off that mech.

When facing tanks, use the environment to your advantage, Lure it to you, Most tank drivers try to hunt you down, and get stuck in the terrain, Then you strike with the hammer, easy kill.

If you're driving a tank, try not to stop while going uphill.
You have a 50% chance of going BACKWARDS upon letting go of the handbrake an hitting the gas.
This makes you a pretty easy target, and may prevent you from getting your reticule on your enemy.

anyone know of a decent way not to take damage while doing a bombing run in a sulla from your own bombs? This tends to happen to me once in awhile and i cant seem to figure out a way out of it
