Description of the crash:

The game crashes to desktop without any error messages.

Can you play the game at all?

Yes, I am able to play the game for a few minutes before crashing to desktop.

How often does this occur?

Multiple times (interval of around 5 to 15mins) every game. Happens more often on loaded servers (15+ players)

Note:

Tried using Catalyst 9.12 (with hotfix) to see if it'll be more stable. Tried to enter a game this morning on MB#3 NJ server SA_Marshes map, crashed with the following error:

"Crysis has stopped working"

After looking through the game logs some of the last entries i've seen are:

everytime i confirm any change with the game, weather it's in crysis or in mwll .... wether i change, audio, grafics, profile, log onto multiplayer... everytime i hit a "confirm" button or "yes" or "no" or "apply" then the game freezes and in background windows 7 shows "crysis is not running anymore..."

Anti Virus installed: yes, AVG Free 9.0

AVG is known to have issues with MWLL, so disabling it - or maybe adding the Crysis executable to the whitelist, if AVG has such a thing - might help.  Also check to see if your autoexec.cfg in the root Crysis directory, or profile folder (My Docs\My Games\Crysis\Profiles) are set to read-only.  Even if they are set to read-only, it shouldn't make the program crash (it just won't save your settings), but it couldn't hurt.

You said it happened in Crysis and MWLL, but then you said it doesn't happen in vanilla Crysis...which is it?  If it's happening in Crysis as well, it's not likely to be an issue with the mod.

you're right in assuming crysis is causing the crash! i found out i made a mistake and crysis causes these crashs in the mainmenu from hotfix 1.21 on without installing mwll! (vanilla crysis works perfectly!)

shut down avg 9 and the game still crashes... and i could not find a file named "autoexec.cfg". neither in my profiles-folder nor in my crysis root folder.

The crashes are totally random. But! i did notice a minor increased chance to crash if i get shot by a PPC in the cockpit area (happend to me a lot lately) sometimes however i'm just in cruise mode to the front and game crashes. Most times i am able to login back to the server again i have played on but lately its not possible anymore.
I tried to clear the RAM before rejoining the Server but that didn't help... but i can still join other servers where i didn't crashed on.

I also noticed that this happens a lot if the server fills with players above 16.. i prepare to get a crash then every minute.
Crysis Solo Campaign and Multiplayer runs smooth without any crashes after hours of gameplay.

Every Driver is up-to-date and i checked all temperatures.
Game runs on low settings in 1440x900 Sound is set to medium quality.

For the sake of debugging this please uninstall your AVG. It's known to cause problems even when disabled - uninstalling has fixed all issues for people regularly crashing when clicking things in the options or similar changes to the settings of your Game. Has to do with the game writing to the Profile folder and AVG denying access to it or something.

Client crashes after varying gameplay lengths, either via a silent CTD (no dialog boxes or prompts) or in some cases the video frames will seize up and I'll get a WinXP "illegal operation" error. Usually the illegal operation error references nv4disp.dll, so I have tried updating my video drivers on numerous occasions. Based on what little recurring symptoms I've encountered, the "silent" CTD usually happens soon after I start encountering sound playback failures (The old s_maxchannels console command usually decreased the frequency of this happening for me). In the case of the illegal operation, I have monitored heat and power levels to make sure my system is not having overheating/power supply issues, and I've run a full suite of hardware diagnostics to ensure that my motherboard and memory are behaving. No problems noticed there.

Yes, other than these intermittent issues

***How often does this occur?
Timing is erratic. Sometimes it's only after 15 minutes of play, sometimes it's after 2 hours of play. This lead me to believe it was hardware related (erratic crash timing is often a sign of power/heat/memory problems) but as I said I've found nothing to indicate this. Also I can play marathon sessions of other non-crysis games without issue.

Is there some way to enable crash logging in the crysis engine? I'd love to at least have SOMETHING to look at when those "silent" CTD's occur. It's terribly frustrating to have such a crash occur and have no recourse for reporting it.
