This is not a problem as only the Hollander and Fafnir can hold Heavy Gauss, and only the Hollander is implemented right now. This is not MW4, so there's no need to compare shitty tactics.
Uhh, oh my, shitty tactics? It was one of the best things in MW4. Jumpjets were awesome, the only thing missing was directional JJ.
The jumpjets in this mod is just "shitty"(please don't get mad, you used it for MW4 which is my favorite game of all time) as it is. You press it and 80% of your jumpjet load goes off and you skyrocket with your mech. It's unreal and embarrassing.
I see now where the shaky aim, small bowl-like maps came from. You guys want everyone just rush in straight and fight with "honor", so you make it impossible to fight efficiently with Jumpjets.
Guess what the players, who used the "shitty" tactics in MW4 and owned you, will still own you in a close-up deathmatch, simply because they are better. Nothing will change cause you give them usefull Jumpjets, or take them away - actually it's just taking away the fun.
As it is right know the skyrocketing jumps are unbalancing the game.
The only complaint i have with jump jets at the moment is that you don't retain forward momentum during a jump, if you are jumping and you let off the jets you come to a standstill fairly quickly and drop like a rock instead of arcing properly lol
But on the issue of jump snipping: just because some players decided to abuse a game mechanic in previous games doesn't make it a part of battletech, if you can open any of the stories from all of the cannon and point out to me one case of poptarting i will give you an Ecookie.
Mostly jump jets were used to achieve a height advantage by jumping onto terrain and buildings, some pilots combined jumping with shooting while moving to keep their line of sight on the target clear, not to jump up snap a shot off and then hide again (mainly that tactic worked in MW4 because you couldn't just blast right thorough the building like they are supposed to be able to do again by the stories, not any of the games)
On the subject of the game being "honor based" and forcing everyone into a melee, i disagree, last night i was able to sit up on a ridge while another mech duked it out a ways away, i lent fire support with my guass in a hollander, together me and that other mech took out 6 mechs/vehicles without one of us ever going down, now if you dont call that tactics i guess you played MW4 for too long
