Quick question, please answer.
« on: August 28, 2011, 06:36:11 PM »
Ok so I have a gaming room in my kitchen (good location with fridge, food, and bathroom just around corner), anyway we have one line into the house and 5 computers and my wireless router. My question is if I had more than one of these computers set up to play MWLL at the same time do I need to do anything special, can they play on the same server, would there be enough bandwidth, etc?

I ask because I have a few friends who are looking to play and have already bought Crysis Warhead to do this, but they are husband and wife and would play from the same house, also my wife and my friend want me to set up two more computers here so they can play also.

Should be no problem if they all have their own game.
Bandwith and latnecy could be a problem though. But some routers can be configured to give each client the same amount of bandwith, this way it would at least be a constant ping for all.

You'd probably be fine, but it would really depend on what kind of speeds your connection is getting, and maybe on if you've got a good router or not.

Also, you got FEMALES to play MWLL? I thought this game was for neckbeards only!  ::) This does seem like it would be a fun game to LAN, though.

It'll be fine. My roommate and I do it all the time.

Your router should have NAT enabled and take care of the IP addressing things automatically.

The only thing that's annoying is that if you're both connected to the same server, and one uses the menu button to disconnect, it will disconnect you both. I'm not sure why.

The same sort of problem happens if say, you're on a full server and someone on your network tries to connect to the same server, but gets the "server full" message. It will disconnect you from the server as well.

I blame the shit crysis netcode for both of these issues,a s I don't have these problems with other games.

My wife and my friends wife have been playing UT2k4 with us for years and my friends wife "ShadowKat" usually kicks ass more than the rest of us. Both have been in the pods at Dave & Busters to play MW4 and done well. Yes we have fun!

New idea- would I be able to use an external hard drive to add RAM and/or improve gigahertz?

Just further proof the left hand is superior.
