Hotfix installed - now game will not launch

Hope someone has an idea on this.  Tried to search but found nothing on this even though I swore I saw a thread on this last night. Anyway, maybe someone has advice that can help.

I have a system that was working fine before the hotfix...now that I have installed the hotfix I crash out of the program every time I launch the game before I even get to the "Wandering Samurai" logo screen.  I just go black screen for a few seconds like before when I try to launch and then crash back to the desktop with the "program has stopped working error" windows loves to show.

Any ideas why the hotfix would cause this or how to repair?

A little more info.

Crysis default will run, just not the MWLL mod.  I tried re-installing the mod and the hotfix.  No change.  Still crashes to desktop before getting to the Wandering Samurai screen.  Even tried forcing DX9 mode.

System is a Windows 7 XPS1210 Laptop.

Had been playing since release the 26th.  Now not at all and I am going through withdrawls.

Try deleting the contents crysis of your profile directory. It should be under MyDocuments/MyGames/Crysis/Profiles, just delete any folders in that and the game will remake them once launching. Might as well also trying deleting your shader cache folder which is also under MyGames/Crysis.

Found the fix.

I plugged in my SideWinder Precision 2 USB joystick.  Game will crash with it - run without it.

Anyone have any ideas why this is?
