That background always sounded pretty interesting to me but there are so much books out there, that i do not know which to start with?
What would the "veterans" say? What series is the right to start with to become familar with this huge background?

Blood of Kerensky Trilogy is where I would start by Michael A. Stackpole.  I find many paperback copies of this in used and half price bookstores nearby.

There are many battletech books that came before this, and they cover a timeline before the Clan invasion.  If you want relevant materials to what this game portrays, start with these three and then follow the timeline list found here :

btw, we are the clan wolverines rebirth and were not playing in a mw4 league before.
but we are heading to a mw:ll league when it comes out (and when mw:ll reaching the right status of development).

i donīt want to make a contest of who has the first clan with the history of the clan wolverine and i am happy to see that all clans got a different name . in historical sight it could be possible that more then one reunion of this clan could be happend.
this shows me that some guys here were brothers in mind .
