'Mech startup 'Confirmation'
« on: December 31, 2009, 01:57:52 PM »
This is just a minor thing, and maybe it's just me... But sometimes when shut-down for whatever reason and trying to start back up, I hit P... Then, thinking it may be lagging (or just being impatient) hit P again - start up, then immediately shut down. Dammit.

A small but useful idea I think would be some sort of immediate response to the initial press - even just a bleep of confirmation that the command was recieved.

Thoughts?

How about pressing and holding P until the Mech is back up? The above happened to me once or twice too but since then I gave up hitting that P key like crazy ;)

I want a female voice to state "Reactor on-line, sensors on-line, weapons on-line, all systems nominal" after the HUD has been build ::)

You are referring to the mw3_powerup. It's my startup/logon sound for Windows :D

It would be a nice touch. An ode to MW3.

Man oh man, the number of times that exact sequence has gone through my head when I pop into a fresh mech is incredible.

I think, but I'm not sure, that when you hit P if all of your sounds are working properly there is a sortof "thunk" and then a hum as systems come online though they could have been ambient noise.

I've been wondering if there's a way I could mod that in for myself (the MW2 Mercs computer voice).

Now you have me wanting to do this!  How do I do it?  Also, I agree with the P thing, a confirmation sound or some briefly flashing words on the HUD would be nice.

How about a popup message when overheating, accompanied by a classic windows errorsound:

*bling*
Quote from: Warning
Temperatur is exeeding recommended operational levels, immediate shutdown advised.
Do you wan't to shutdown now?

|Yes|   |No|  |Reboot|

No really, it would be great to get that computervoice back to our cockpits. :)
