night vision/IR/magnetic resonance

I was wondering if you guys have thought about the imaging systems that I read so much about in the battletech novels.  Specifically the magnetic resonance where the mechs can detect the magnetic field from the fusion engines of the mechs, but obviously night vision and I.R. also.  I know the distances at which these are effective will have to be balanced but I am just talking now about the concept and its incorporation.

It's been discussed and the only thing really limiting us will be the renderer in Cry2Engine. Out of everything that is the thing we have the LEAST control over. The renderer and it's code will not be released since they license the engine for 100's of thousands if not more which gives you full access to changing the renderer.

Now the thing is there is a lot of shader tricks that you can use to do things like that in addition to changing around the nightvision.

Rest assured its on everyone's mind the thing is we really can't do much with it until we get the SDK.
