It's an AM3 socket, could upgrade the chip and video card (sell the chip and card it comes with) and you would be sitting pretty well.

Guess you missed this post-

I got my last PC from here because they looked pretty good. The machine cost me $1140 (got a E6750, 2GB DDR2-800, 8800GTS 320MB, P5N-E, though this was back in early '07) with a 5% discount, and was well built. They have plenty of options and don't charge much of a premium. As a note of caution, however, I really reccomend you know what you're going to buy before buying it, because there are alot of bad combinations that you can buy as well as the good ones.

DONT BUY FROM CYBERPOWER.

If you want to know why, just read thier forums full of posts from unsatisified and disappointed customers.

Have you had a problem with them before? If you're going by others opinions, then shut up. If not, you have a point. My PC turned out fine, there's always some level of risk with any pc manufacturer.

The problem is when you don't build it yourself or go the custom built route ($$$) you are pretty limited. There are a LOT of 'wishlists' on newegg that are around $700 that would be great - but they have to be built.

Honestly, with only 700$, I really would just buy a barebones and get the parts you want. It really isn't that hard to build a PC from scratch, it is just mythed as impossible so you bring it to a "professional" to be built or buy a pre-made. Sure, having 100$ more, you could get a very nice pre-built from ibuypower, but at 700$ I would just shop around and get a sale on everything you can and build the best you could personally.

No, I'm plenty smart enough to build my own computer. I'm also smart enough to learn from other peoples mistakes. When I see complaints like these-

Topic: Horrible Customer Service & Unfinished/Trashed PC

I ordered a PC for my wife for Christmas on December 2nd. It took Cyberpower FOREVER to get the PC to us. When I opened the unscratched box, I saw the video card was laying in the bottom, the neon light (+15) was laying across the bottom not attached. When I put the video card in the slot and turned it on nothing happened. The neon lights wouldn't work even after throwing the switch. The professional wiring (+15) was horrible and one wire was pulled tight across where the video card should have been, telling me that the PC was shipped with the video card laying in the bottom. I called the day the PC arrived, could not get thorough, left a message. Three days later I called back, could not get through, left a message. Finally someone called me back. He basically asked me if I knew how to fix it. I do know how to replace motherboards, but its not my responsibility so I said no. They had it shipped back GROUND. Obviously when you send someone unfinished junk that doesn't work you should try to get a working computer back to them as soon as possible. We repackaged it, shipped it back. The cyber power nameplate popped off when I touched the box with it and the PC paint scratched with a little rub to the box. January 4th im getting kinda mad that I haven't got the PC I paid good money for over a month ago. Besides the fact that my wife got nothing for Christmas. I emailed them that I wanted a refund because of the horrible service. Two days later a rude customer service rep. called me up and said he would need me to pay $50.00 for return shipping on the PC that he was unaware was sitting in his warehouse. I told him that it was returned for repair. He argued that it is NOW returned for refund and he would need $50.00 and for me to pay for shipping of the rest of the software I still have.  What kind of a basement company is this? If I recieved a computer I simply wasn't satisfied with I would fully expect to pay the return shipping. But when you recieve a pile of trash at your door, you struggle for days to contact someone, then they want to ground ship what is supposed to be a product that is working at your home, then they sit on it once it arrives.... its rediculous. This is when you should use your common sence and integrity, admit your mistake, and cover the refund fully(shipping included) or promise a quick fix and overnight shipping. I contaced the Better Business Bureau. And people wonder why small buisness doesn't make it in America... I was a return customer, now sadly I have to advise anyone reading this DO NOT BUY A CYBERPOWER PC.

Just want to advise anyone consulting these forums prior to purchasing a computer from this company my experience so they can avoid enduring the same terrible product and service.

I recently purchased a desktop from cyberpowerpc, it cost me $4300 and change, plus $85 for shipping. When it arrived, I encountered nothing but this computer crashing as well as other problems. I sat on the phone with technical support for three hours and although I spoke with two different people, one nice one and another mean person, their advice just led to more problems arising. I had to uninstall and reinstall windows, download a program to make the blu-ray player work since the cd it came with was defective and once i ran a program, the computer began crashing again, freezing and displaying a blue screen. I am not a moron by any means and am embarrassed that I consulted such a company with so much money. I have been trying to reach someone from technical support since yesterday and apparently there was and still is a high call volume and no matter how long I wait, I cannot reach anybody.

I proceeded to call sales since that is the only department that has a human capable of answering the phone and they did not seem to care about the problems or defective product, refused to transfer me to a manager and insisted i mail the computer back without reimbursement of my initial shipping fees and the responsibility of paying for the return shipping fees.

Never in my life have I ever expected after spending nearly $4500.00 to receive such a defective product, obnoxious and unhelpful staff and such a sketchy and scamming company.

Save yourself the trouble and do not purchase anything from here despite the testimonials. It is apparent that they are having their staff write them.

I was foolish  to purchase a PC here,  the order was delayed 3 weeks due to a part being back ordered (they contacted me a week after i ordered to tell me that) When it finally arrived it wouldn't work....it was a dead on arrival  system.

So I thought let's give them one more chance,(how i regret this now) I called them got a RMA number etc,had to lift the heavy thing to ship it back to them, also they used ground service,Yes i had wasted 85$ on shipping.
A long month of agony later they called me and told me they are done repairing it,they have changed the motherboard and the video card and have tested the system with their "quality control".

They didn't ship the computer until December 28, So I received The system on Monday 4th 2010, and you guessed it ,NO signal on the monitor,no nothing, this computer never worked and i never saw anything on the monitor even though i tried 3 different monitors.

I spend 5 hours calling and no one ever answered, It was always the same message  telling  me to leave a message and my  phone number and that they will call me back  (they never did)  Yesterday after being tired of waiting all day for them to call me, I've spend  2 hours calling them until  I finally talked to some guy,  I told them i wanted a refund,  at first they wanted to charge me a 15% restocking fee.... I explained to them that the system never worked,  and I only had the system for one day.

They finally agreed to a full refund, But yeah the 85$ spend on shipping won't be refunded and I have to pay to ship the system back to them, Now i'm just    waiting for the RMA email to ship the system back to them so i can get my money back.

tl,dr spent 2400$ on a PC,  get a dead PC, wait one more month to get another non working PC, wasted around 150$ on shipping, have to wait who knows how long to get get a refund.

I'm smart enough NOT to do business with that company. Ok, your PC is working fine, great for you. I consider you to be very lucky. But on the same count, if you were to buy another computer from cyberpower after seeing the experiences plenty of people are having, I would consider you very stupid.

BTW, those quote were from 3 of the top 4 thread in thier customer feedback forum. I didn't have to look for more than 2 minutes to find those quotes.
