X52 Original Profile (Props to DeathYacht for original files)
« on: January 06, 2010, 07:47:31 AM »
For those that own an original non-pro Saitek X52 Flight Control System here is a profile to use along with the actionmaps.xml and joystick.cfg

Please note, I had to change the "joystick= " value to 1 in order for my game to start up. This might also be the case for the rest of you
I have not tested this, I merely recreated the profile from the X52 Pro to the X52 file.

Edit: I am going to work on a list of commands

IMPORTANT NOTE: The throttle slider acts as shift after 54%, please don't freak out if your mouse starts selecting everything. Just slide it down all the way.

Movement:
Throttle: The mouse fire on the throttle enables the throttle (must press before the throttle functions as normal)
   Mech: X-axis turn mech left/right
            Y-axis pitch torso up/down (inverted)
            Z-axis turn torso left/right
    Boost: Slider on Throttle
Center Torso: Down on Right POV Hat

Combat:
  Fire Group 1: Trigger
  Fire Group 2: C-Fire Button
  Fire Group 3: B-Fire Button
  Fire Group 4: A-Fire Button
  Fire Group 5: Safe-Fire Button
Fire Group 6: Second Push Trigger (there are 2 buttons on the trigger, one is a soft press, the second is a full press)
Zoom: Up on right POV Hat

Targeting:
Target Next Enemy: Up on Left POV Hat
Target Nearest Enemy: Left on Left POV Hat
Target Next Friendly: Down on Left POV Hat
Target Nearest Friendly: Right on Left POV Hat

Misc:
  Light: Wheel Button/Toggle 4
  Map: Toggle 6
  Infared: Toggle 5
  Reload/Purchase Ammo: Toggle 2/Toggle 3
  Power Down: Toggle 1
  Override Auto-Shutdown: E-Fire Button
  Coolant Dump: D-Fire Button

NOTICE:

Version 3 is up now, the torso and leg controls have been swapped for a more natural feel.
In order to function, the flight controls are now on mode 1 the "Vehicle" Mode and the mech/land vehicle controls are on mode 2 the "Mech" mode
Please note that you MUST switch to the correct one in order to pilot the vehicle correctly.

If you do not know how to change modes, it is the knob on the right side of the joystick (should say "MODE" with a green light below it)
The topmost bar is Mode 1, middle bar is Mode 2, and the bottom bar is Mode 3

NOTICE:
Files are back up, haven't been around to notice they're not there! Sorry for the wait

Nice work! Could you point me to the X52 Pro files too? I ordered that baby and wanna testride it in MWLL before playing some flight and space sims.

Interesting.  I think that I might combine this with 976-Pain's pr0file and have something that will actually be worth it in game.

Starmind: the mouse-fire button is the small silver thing next to the blue mouse knob. If you place your hand on the throttle your thumb should be able to reach it. It is on the side.

HH_Burner: Could you post that up too? I like this profile but I'm not a huge fan of the way the X and Rudder control mechs (would rather have x turn legs and rudder turn torso)

hm, I'll work on fixing that quick. It would be easier for the mouse fire button to work

That's very odd, If you know how to you can fix it by changing the mouse fire button to be the "num pad /" key. That seems to be the only thing wrong

I have one problem very often i loose the leg axis on the x52 i dont understand why, also i have lots of erratic moves of torso due to the mini mouse on the x52 (i think i could adjust this by disabling it) but the leg axis i really dont see, it work fine when i start, and maybe i push one wrong button and then seems something take control of the axis
