Greetings <S>

I was able to get Zweistein000 going with that actionmap and profile, but I see that others are having troubles using them.

What I am going to do is write up a tutorial on how I got my Extreme 3D Pro running through the profiler sometime tonight.

If you want to use a known to work actionmap for Extreme 3D Pro go to the Joysitck 101 in the Beta General Discussion Page 9.  My action map is there for use without the profiler, and it does work.
I don't care if you shoot me full of holes...just don't taze me bro!

Yeah, still no go. I tried it with the profiler on and off, don't work. It must be something interferaing. I'll hold off until more JS support is added I guess.

Weird, the actionmap from the Joystick 101 thread (profiler disabled) did work for me. Only problem is it starts spinning around left on the X axis and doesn't stop  ::)
The only thing I did was disable the profiler and delete a joystick.cfg from my default folder that was lying around from some previous try...

I'll have to keep playing with it. Thanks PAIN :).

so I installed the profile and tested it out. works great and the best part is the mech actually stops when I move the throttle all the way back.

but what I don't understand is why. in this profle the joystick software throttle at "zero" is mapped to "moveback" (the "S" key) right?

I play most fps games with "S" and "W" mapped to fire1 and fire2, and Mouse1 and Mouse2 mapped to forward and backward, so I edited my actionmaps.xml and logetech profiler software. Since you can't map mouse clicks to the throttle I bound forward and backward to F1 and F2 (for default, vehicle and helicopter) as well as mouse1 and mouse2, and changed the throttle settings in the profiler to reflect this. everything works fine except my mech won't come to a complete stop now even when the hud shows that throttle is at zero.

am I missing something? did you do something different to get the mech to stop?

its not that big a deal, I can just change back to default to get it working I just don't understand how my currant setup is any different since the minimum throttle setting is still mapped to the same command. the only difference is its F1 and F2 now instead of S and W.

I have a really weird situation when I tried the actionmaps supplied for this stick... it reverts back to the actionmaps I had replaced.  A couple weeks ago I tried doing some actionmap modifications to put for instance the button 2 to represent the Zoom instead of fire group 2.  I renamed my modified version mwll_actionmaps (sized at 21k), and put the actionmaps provided here by Pain in there (sized at 22k)... then after I launch the game I find the button 2 is still the Zoom action I set it to before and sure enough when I exit i find the size of the actionmaps went from 22k to 21k meaning its actually putting it back to the way it was before!  I imagine its some kind of bug, but it definitely baffled me a few times there.

thats pretty odd. try replacing the actionmaps in your defaults section as well, don't know if it will help but its worth a shot.

Not sure what I did, but I was able to get the profiler + actionmap combo to work. Maybe having too many conflicting files in the profiles/[user] directory was causing problems...
Now the only thing that doesn't work is throttle. I tried toggling the 'K' button but it didn't seem to make any difference whether instant throttle or "sticky" was selected.
Anyway, I suppose I can't really complain :D

I see how you did the throttle 976PAIN, so I'll keep fiddling with it... maybe I can figure something out. Thanks again for all your help!

<S> Greets
Been unable to get on here lately due to illness, but here is the way I did my throttle using the Logitech Profiler for the Extreme 3D Pro:

Setting the Throttle.
-Select Throttle in Profiler, then select Zone Assignment > New Zone assignment and hit the split button 10 times. Hit the Space Evenly button once. You should now see 12 evenly spaced zones at 8% total size each.

Click the Edit button,  click new keystroke, and click record. hit the W key on the Keyboard. Click OK.
Do this same proceedure for letter key S, and 0-9 on the numpad. Click OK. Now click on the top box you have just created, go to the assignment dropdown window and choose the W key. On the next one down, assign the 9 key to that window, and on down to the bottom.  Once you reach the bottom, assign the S key to that slot. Give the whole command a name (throttle is good) in the top window, and click on OK.

<S>   Smiley

I just edited this post a bit...hopefully more clear now

I don't see the actual file in your page 9 post in "Joystick 101". :o
