There are only two types mechs that were two seater that i remember reading. The Command Mechs that were mentioned before, The Cyclops comes to mind for me. The other being Clan prototype LAMs ie transforming Land Air Mechs. They did that because one pilot controlled ASF mode and the other was a Mechwarrior. The controls were too complex for one person to handle and due to the specialization of Clan Warriors, MWs did fair well enough against normal ASF pilots skill wise. Or something like that
But yeah, there has never been a gunner/pilot configed mech
