I personally think this mod is already fantastic. It's just a beta, but I can very clearly see the potential. Despite lag, crashes, bugs, rebalancing concerns, and new features that need to be added, I still end up playing for hours!

This mod is the first I've played for any game that attempted Battletech/ Mechwarrior since MW4. Any other attempt I saw was amateurish at best. I seem to remember one mod where they couldn't even get the mechs to walk right...they move beautifully here!

One thing that impresses me about the modelling BTW that wasn't even done in the official MW games, is that the different variants actually look slightly different based on their loadout. That kind of attention to detail = A++

Hey, making animations for only roughly humanoid shapes is harder than it looks xD

created a new Battletech/mechwarrior hybrid that is goign to set a new bar for even major developers, cuz lets be honest once they see the combined arms feel towards things, whos gonna want to pay for a game thats missing elements that we like to play.

Wow, that's an excellent point.
Maybe it will also be used as inspiration for the upcoming MW/Mechwarrior reboot, if that ever gets off the ground.  Either way, the fans win!

I never even noticed. Versus in one of the earlier videos that featured two Pumas... I *DID* notice them walking... and it wasn't because it looked normal :)

I agree with all here,

What a grate mod, seems there is so much to learn and so much you can do in this game, I have been playing
BF2142 and have played mechwarrior since mech 2. I love this mod

The popularity of FPS games without that element since Battlefield 1942 and the games following it always amazed me. People would still talk about Halo and Call of Duty, and while these games were reasonably fun, I was always thinking "where's my tank? jet? helicopter? battleship? submarine?" These other games paled in comparison IMO. ...and now "where's my battlemech?"  ;D

I of course second/third/whatever this sentiment. I was moaning about the lack of new, or even good BT games until my friend directed me here around christmas. It's wonderful that people would give up so much of their time for free to make something like this! I didn't know but now that I think about it I can see why we wouldn't be able to give money (license reasons) - can someone confirm this? Are there guidelines for what is allowed?

Yes, due to the nature and number of license agreements involved and in order to satisfy all involved parties that there would be no uncompensated profit on the part of the developers, the IP agreements mandate that the developers receive no direct compensation - monetary or otherwise - for their efforts purely in relation to and as a result of this mod. There are other constraints involved as well, but yes, it is well known that by contract the devs, neither as individuals nor a group, can charge or receive money - not even beer! - for this game.

Are we allowed to make donations at all? Or would that be a breach at all. Might be able to word it as "donations towards the upkeep of the site" or something xD
