I like the joystick for how cool it feels, but I honestly think the mouse is better for aiming. I use my thruster to move and steer my tanks and mechs, and my mouse to aim. Ive been able to snipe vtols at 800m since going to my mice.
I use to have my joystick set to be really responsive and sensitive, but it always seemed to mess up my aim when compounded by inertial sway. It was especially bad in aero/vtol, not that I'm good in them now or anything. I use to be a good pilot in battlefield 1942, but I cant seem to do anything but crash in this game. So I guess I have 2 questions:
1) If you are a crackshot with the JS, do you have it set to be very fast or sluggish? Here's what I've been using:
joystick = 1
x_axis_att = 4
y_axis_att = 4
z_axis_att = 1
x_rot_att = 1
y_rot_att = 1
z_rot_att = 7
x_axis_off = 50
y_axis_off = 50
z_axis_off = 50
x_rot_off = 150
y_rot_off = 150
z_rot_off = 10
slider_1_att = 1
slider_2_att = 1
slider_1_off = 10
slider_2_off = 10
2. For the fighter jockeys here that can both bomb and strafe, do you use full thrust most of the time? And same question as above regarding how quick you set your stick.
Thanks.
