Yea I noted the same this.  Its interesting though that Microsoft dissolved FASA Studios shortly after we got permission to use the IP.   No wonder they gave it to us, I wonder what is in store for the future of the franchise- if anything.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say...nothing. Maybe a bit more MechAssault but even that was handled by a third party developer and published through MSGS.

No, they said they got the permissions from FASA, however it was likely due to FASA about to be dissolved.

(hence they thought "oh look someone who will actually see our IP used and used well and made for the people of next-gen for free" and gave this project the ok) but now M$ could maybe C&D (they have on mods previously) but not too likely if indeed they plan to do hardly squat.

FASA Studios was owned by microsoft, and microsoft owns the Battletech/mechwarrior rights as far as games go.
